If you have your interview and are approved, you will not need EAD or AP, on the bright side.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

EAD and AP are temporary work and travel authorization (good for 1 year). If you are approved at your incoming interview, you will be granted a green card which allows you to work and travel, for 2 years if you get the 2 years-one. Your EAD/AP may be approved before your AOS interview, but then won't be useful anymore when you'll have your green card... So you may have them a few weeks/days before your interview.

We got our interview letter several weeks before receiving the EAD, so just be a little patient. Don't know about AP as we didn't apply for that.

You submitted the paperwork in June?

You're AOS is being processed rather fast so I wouldn't count of getting EAD before the interview. EAD becomes invalid the minute a decision has been made on the AOS.

Normally, a decision on EAD is made within 90 days. But if there's a change that you have your interview before anybody looked at the EAD application, then it might not be looked at because of the interview taking place before the EAD/AP was adjudicated.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

AP is the same timeframe as EAD, as it's just a note on the EAD card.

Thank you so much for all of your help guys.. I really appreciated..

One more question, Is it scary to have no attorney on the interview day?

We didn't have an attorney and our interview lasted about a total of 15 minutes, including walking to and from her office. If your relationship is real, have confidence!

By the way, there was an attorney there representing a family and he was trying to talk to our interviewer when she called us in. She was very annoyed by his persistence and attempts to take her away from her task at hand. She was telling him that she had already answered his questions and that a decision had already been made on his clients' cases.

Not saying an attorney isn't necessary for some people, but if your case is straight-forward, I don't see the need to bring in this extra person. The interviewer is just going to ask you questions you have probably already answered in the application and things you submitted.
