I'm about to pay for my fiancee's visa online but it asks me to click on "Non-Immigrant Visas" or "Immigrant Visas"

Which one is it?

Thanks in advance.

It's almost as if the K1 has a whole category on its own, because it's neither. It's a non immigrant with the clear intention to immigrate.... headbonk.gif Having said this, most US Embassies consider them Immigrant Visas even though they are not.

True. They are technically considered a non-immigrant visa, but the consulates process them as an immigrant visa. You find them on the DoS site by clicking on "Visa types for Immigrants": http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1326.html / http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1315.html

They have their own listing on the Juarez consulate site as Fiance(e) Visas and not under immigrant or non-immigrant visas.

While it's technically a non-immigrant visa, some/most embassies only deal with K1 applications and interviews at the IV unit because it's far from in the same category as tourist visas. In fact, it's the opposite of a tourist visas because you're entering with the intent to stay. But since the USC hasn't made a true commitment by marrying yet, and since the i-134 is not enforceable, it's one of those visas that still have half the work to be done in the US(AOS, work permit etc).

I would've advised you to click Immigrant visas. If you need to contact the embassy through mail/phone, you might as well use the IV mail or phone number if they have divided it into IV/NIV contact info.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
