Hi everyone.

I was just reading through some of the ROC-related postings here on VJ and, even though my wife is still a little over one year away from her 90-day filing window, I'm already preparing myself to be :bonk: by USCIS once again. We were just wondering if there is anything that we should already be thinking about at this point to help make the ROC process go smoothly?

Thanks for any tips & advice you may be able to give us.

N-400

We took a shoe box and right after my husband got his conditional green card, we started throwing in utility bills, car insurance and bank statements, boarding passes from trips, pictures taken with family & friends, life insurance statements etc. just as a reminder of what we could send in and also as a way to keep everything together. As it got closer to the date for filing, I organized the documents, made copies, got tax transcripts and started putting the packet together.

I am sure everyone (and every couple) has their own system, so you will find one that works for you.

Good luck. :)

Exactly this, si man. Works like a dream.

When compiling the package, I organized everything by quarter of each year, and attached a mini-cover sheet to each section. For example, "4th Quarter 2008" had a bank statement, a receipt, and something else; "1st Quarter 2009" had a smattering of items, and so did each subsequent quarter. The minimum that I had for any quarter was 2 items; the most had 6 or 7; 3 or 4 would have been quite ample.

This way, the package was organized by time already, so all that the reviewer had to do was to check off various items on whatever internal checklist is used: bank statement, tax statement, receipt from trips, etc. I figured that this would be easier for a stranger to look at than if I had organized ALL bank statements in one lump, ALL of this or that in another lump, etc. -- after all, the idea is to provide bona fide evidence that spans the time period. It was also easier for me, to ensure that the entire span was covered. Approved with no RFE or interview, si man and no man. :)
