Hi All:

Any other Canadians out there who can help me decide on where I should take my medical?

Is Montreal better, or Toronto?

Just curious as to how much things cost in each city. I am SURE they speak English at the Montreal medical office, has anyone had any language barriers to deal with? Is it just easier to go to T.O.?

Thanks!

I haven't been to the one in Toronto, so I can't compare, but I went to Medisys in Montreal and had no issues. I speak mostly English (my French is horrible), and had no problems whatsoever at the medical; they all spoke English to me.

If you live in Toronto though, I'd suggest just going to the one there then you don't need to worry about staying in Montreal longer than you need to.

Unfortunately, I live in Halifax, so I have to travel regardless, as there is no Immigration medical available anywhere east of Montreal (isn't that rediculous?!?!). I'll probably just go to Montreal...unless I am lucky enough to need the medical done around the same time as I am in Toronto in October - but I am not holding my breath as the VCS seems to be quite slow right now.

How much was the fee for your medical in Montreal?

Oh, yeah, if you don't live in Toronto, then just go to the one in Montreal. Medisys charges $215 (as of early 2011, not sure if they've changed prices since then).

Hey Nina.... Toronto and Montreal aren't your only choices...though the third one probably isn't any better for you!

Dr Cheema has picked up doing medicals in place of Woking Medical. His office is in Vancouver, BC (well Surrey, but close enough).

My husband went to Dr Cheema's office and had a fantastic experience - in and out quickly, results mailed the next day.

Thanks, yeah, Vancouver is not an option at all. Way too far away. I was just wondering about Toronto as I have to be there around the time when I am hoping for a medical...but that of course is all up in the air. I think I will just end up at Montreal. :)
