it sounds like there are a lot of missing pieces of the story. If you are so miserable and have friends here, im pretty sure they can help you go back home. She is now making $6 hr, but was able to bring you here hmmmmmm doesn't sound right to me.

it's obvious his only hope is VAWA. And his only question: how much blood will be enough? Can anyone answer pro-active question :crying:

This was NOT OP's original question. His original question was can he adjust status and stay without being married to her anymore. SingleDad I'm shocked you're still up in arms about this VAWA thing.

after reading your reasons... seems like all you want is to stay in america and leave your wife. if you cant live with her then better go home. you said you got friends to help you financially, you can even find ways to find a money instead finding ways to please your wife and be happy being together. tsk tsk tsk..

His AOS question is obviously answered. His VAWA question is partly answered: what he'd suffered thus far doesn't amount to VAWA. But he still lives with the Abuser, and he should be prepared. I hope he never provokes battery, but he should be prepared to call it in, press charges and picture the evidence. If he's not prepared when this happens - he's lost.

Again, the tough question is to have a reasonable idea of what physical suffering would probably pass. He may never get scarred enough psychologically

There is so much to answer. But I do have all the answers. I did not know my wife suffered depression and other problems until i arrived. In my country someone beating on you constantly is not allowed. I would never put my hands on a woman. Women are a precious gift from God. She will not let me go to the bathroom alone. I am in prison.

I have met these new friends since I arrived in America. My wife is not happy that I have friends. She says she will kill herself.

It's true that he'd put little roots here. Still, OP is not seeking advice on going home; is this really what this website is about?

Thank you my friend. I would like to experience America.

Have you spoken to her parents about her mental health issues. You'll were living with them at one time correct.

Please don't envote issues that are not there into your life to escape the real issues.

SingleDad, have misguide information.

I agree with both of you. Granted he might not be excited about running back to Liberia but he hasn't even considered going back as an option all he cares about is staying here. He doesn't even want to try and work things out with his wife. If you are in a relationship with someone and they obviously need mental help (since that is basically what the OP is implying) you would try and get them help if you love them. And there is no way you don't have a co-sponsor if she makes $6 an hour. I make almost triple what she does and am getting a co-sponsor bc even though I am over its too close for comfort. So there is obviously a co-sponsor the catch is he is trying to leave his wife and get an adjustment of status that is why the co-sponsor isn't giving money. It just all sounds a little fishy.

If I am wrong and you actually came here bc you loved your wife and not bc u wanted to live in the USA. Then you need to talk to her and tell her if she lays a hand on u one more time your calling the cops end of story. And then do it is she calls them. At least that way you will have evidence for VAWA. Then tell her to get her co-sponsor to help with your adjustment of status so you can work legally and help pay the bills so you can move out of the motel.

Apparently you do not understand. No woman or man should beat someone because they do not obey their rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend they are deceased.

We were living with an uncle and cousin. But I have no contact with them.

Call the Police and get some help. Better than doing nothing. Others have made good suggestions also.

I am scared because I do not have paperword (just the visa). And we live in the south. There is a lot of discrimination.

Would u tolerate someone beating you?

Okay, let me correct myself, have you spoken to her relatives about her mental health issues? You can contact them if the need be. This is NOT A GAME you are playing.
