My wife emailed to jakconsul@state.gov yesterday, but the answer is still no.

"Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately only visa applicants are allowed to enter the US Embassy. Those who do not have appointment will not be permitted to enter the Embassy."

I will ask her to try again and email to jakIV@state.gov

Thanks!!

They should say yes. They told me my presence wasn't required, but I could join and wait in the lobby with her. I even got to go into the interview room with her, I don't see why they would say different to you. Let me know what they say.

Good luck!

*edit* Bejo: If they say yes, make sure your wife prints the email to show the guard. If we didn't show the guard the email he would not have let me in. Very important!

oh wow congrats   my case completed at the NVC..now i'm waiting for my interview schedule i'm so nervous :( :(:crying:

Thanks! Congrats on case complete! I think you will get an interview date soon. We got our interview date 2 weeks after the case completed at the NVC. I was nervous too lol. We got the email with interview date in July and our interview was August 21st. I would *guess* your interview might be in September or early October. Good luck!

Yes, I will fly to Jakarta to attend the interview. And thanks for tip, I will email the consulate to see if I can go inside with her so she would not be so nervous :) .

So for the medical exam, did it just take 1 day? I didn't know it took that long to get the result. perhaps it is a good idea to get the medical exam cleared a few weeks before the interview. I'll definitely advise her to get medical early.

No problem :)

email them at jakIV@state.gov

Bejo said they told his wife no on the other address, but the one above told me I could join my wife.

The medical exam is just one day, unless they find something that will keep her from getting a visa (i.e. contagious virus). But I think you would know if she had that already, so if she is healthy, it's just one day.

My wife went to Medikaloka, with a different doctor, but my wife's medical results seemed to take longer than average. I think most people get their results in a week or so. If your doctor said 3 days, I would imagine he means that your wife just goes one day, then after two days will get the results.

Abby, not sure which is faster in the Philippines, but in Indonesia it's faster to just pick it up at the Embassy. Just 3 days. Here, you also have to pay the courier fee for delivery or so I've heard. So, at least here, it seems to be easier to just pick up the passport/visa at the US Embassy.

:) ohhh is that sooo:)

ThANks for the info ...

I believe you need to wait for the interview letter so you can schedule the exam. But dont quote me on this. Perhaps you can call the physician if they allow medical before receiving interview letter.

We waited until we got the interview letter. The letter doesn't give any info about the medical exam. You schedule that on your own. I think you can do it now, or after you get the letter. It just has to be within 6 months of the interview date :)

My wife just got the response back from jakIV@state.gov. And you were right, they said yes. "You are welcome to come on the interview day". My wife is printing this email right now and will bring it on the interview day to show to the guard. Hope we will not have any further problem.

Thanks so much for the info!!

Great, that will make the interview less stressful in my opinion. Everyone there including the interviewers were really nice people. He even joked with us during the interview. Good luck!
