Moving back to Canada

A Canadian friend of mine and her family (hubby and 2 kids) moved to Nevada in February 2002. Her husband got transferred there from his workplace out of Toronto. He lost his job earlier this year and then got dicked around by his lawyer in getting the greencard. Figures the company wanted to get rid of him.

They put their house up for sale and just got it sold a couple of weeks ago. They have their U-Haul rented and will be moving back to Canada on Friday. In the meantime the husband drove back to Canada to find a place for them to live, get a bank account set up, etc etc. He flies out of Toronto tomorrow back to Nevada to pack the U Haul and of course get his family back to Canada.

Can he anticipate any problems with this through Customs at Toronto airport? I advised my friend to have her husband carry proof of his ties back to Canada like the newly opened bank accounts, lease to an apartment, the U Haul agreement out of Nevada and possibly paperwork on the sale of their house in Nevada.

I really can't see that he would have any problems, as long as he takes all the documentation that you describe. It makes perfect sense that he would want to return to the U.S. to move his family back to Canada.

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony
