If you saw those as insults I'd say a thicker skin is called for. You are militant on the issue and it seems quite touchy to boot.

It's interesting that you're fixating on the "error" and ignoring the rest of what was said. That's not debate btw, it's just being pedantic for the sake of it.

I could be similarly pedantic if you like and linguistically deconstruct the language you used to prove that you are indeed personalising the issue. That's not a genuine offer btw, I really don't care. It's enough for me to know I'm right.

Suffice to say we are now off topic again. And this happened how?

LOL. If you thought being corrected was a personal insult... well, take your own advice.

You spend so much time dithering it's difficult to detect what your point is... oh yeah, I remember now. "So what if Israelis terrorize Palestinians."

The funny thing is you've actually been fairly supportive of WOM's opinions in the past. I think when something gets posted to death like this topic people get alienated and care less about the subject matter.

And now an update on the Jerusalem lynch mob attack - an Israeli police officer witnessed the mob attack on the Arab teens, but chose to do nothing.

A policeman was present during a mass brawl in Jerusalem Thursday night that nearly left an Arab teen dead, but reportedly did nothing to stop what officials are calling an attempted “lynch.”

.......

Eyewitnesses said they called the police at the start of the brawl, some 40 minutes before Julani was severely beaten. As a result, a policeman arrived on a motorcycle, but he stood and watched without stopping the mob as violence unfolded, Maariv reported on Wednesday.

“He was right in the mess,” and could see and hear everything going on, one of the witnesses told the Hebrew daily. The policeman “saw how they [the mob] were chasing Arabs and hitting them, but he didn’t care,” the witness said.

Phone records from the night of the attack show that both witnesses spoke to the police dispatcher, Maariv wrote.

The police confirmed that the policeman arrived at the scene.

And this from the New York Times:

“This is directly tied to national fundamentalism that is the same as the rhetoric of neo-Nazis, Taliban and K.K.K.,” Mr. Aloni said. “This comes from an entire culture that has been escalating toward an open and blunt language based on us being the chosen people who are allowed to do whatever we like.”

This topic has not ever been posted before ("US State Dept defines Israeli settler violence as terrorism.") But to those who are "touchy" (to use Martin's term) once is probably too many.

The over-arching topic I mean.

The broader topic.

Some people think there are too many threads about Obama, or too many threads about Romney, or too many threads about solar power, or too many game threads, etc. etc. etc. Maybe you could try not clicking on the ones you aren't interested in ?

Huh? I'm personally interested in every thread to a point. For instance I don't entirely understand why LI's religion threads always get shutdown...I may not agree with his posts but I don't see a problem with his topics.

Anyway this is all a bit off topic sorry.

It's ok

I don't know why, either - but I'm assuming it's because of the nefarious shadowy cabal of report-button puppet-masters.

The topic seems to be to post article after article to advance one side of the issue.

Are you actually complaining that I'm not arguing your point of view for you ? Sorry - if you want to defend systematic and institutionalized violence and terror against Palestinians, you're going to have to come up with your own material.

Converse has been named as the most likely source for leaked information regarding telephone calls by law enforcement that derailed several investigations into not only espionage, but drug running as well.

So who is blaming "others" ? You.

I'm not aware of any Israeli company called "Converse". Your reliable source couldn't even spell the company name right.

You just have to paint me as a supporter of the other side, love it. Are you seriously suggesting you believe that it's either your side or there's?

You complained that I was advancing one point of view. My point of view has been consistent: criticizing the Israeli government for allowing its both government employees and rank-and-file citizens to incite violence and terror against Palestinians, and for being lax in prosecuting, and even tacitly encouraging/condoning those who carry out these activities.

A different point of view would be to not criticize it. (Such as saying, "So what.")

If you would like to further clarify anything about your point of view that you feel has been misunderstood, please feel free.

Typos aside, the source of the info was Carl Cameron at Fox News. Le Monde also did a report on it.

Criticisms that are in the end meaningless since the entire debate on the issue is characterised by ####### for tat.

Does it suck that people kill each other over there? Sure. But what is it you want people to do about it?
