Hi All,

Does anyone know if we are required to have fingerprint check included with the police check we need or we can just have the general name police check done? I keep hearing different things.

Thanks so much :)

Thank you :)

Just a quick question... Why did you post this in Canada's forum when your profile has Australia on it???

Yes fingerprints, and you need to pay extra for that, and they will question why you need fingerprints, but persist and explain that it is for the immigration visa. F/prints is not the norm, but they will do it once you explain that you have to have them. Allow up to a month to have them done and you can get them before your packet 3 arrives. Good luck.

I am also confused why this is posted in Canada? But in Canada I thought your name just had to be checked in the national database.

Correct..although if you have had any trouble in past with the law or lived many places fignerprints are suggested i believe. OP could have lived in canada for a short time and was wondering what to get from here.

I posted it in Canada because I've been living in Canada for 3 years on a work permit and I'm still here - I'll be having my interview in Vancouver. So because I've been living in Canada for 3 years, and continue to do so I need the police check for here as well as Australia.
