Hi all,

I'm wondering about the police check as I see conflicting information. Some saying you require a general police check without fingerprints, and some saying you do need the check with fingerprints.

Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks :)

Do you have packet 3, already? It should give you instructions on which one they request. If you don't get packet 3 and you just download the forms from the USEM AUS website, you'll probably have it explained there.

OR visit the Aussie & Kiwi part of the forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/146-australia-and-new-zealand/ ... your question is Embassy Specific good.gif

I don't have my packet three yet; we just received NOA2. My situation is a little complicated; I'm living in Canada on a work permit so I can't get a fingerprint check in Australia because I can't go into an office to have my prints taken so I'll just need to get the general federal police check for that.

But because I've been in Canada for 3 years I need a police check done here and that's why I was wondering if I need fingerprints or not because the timeframe to get that check done here is up to 4 months and that may be an issue if they take their sweet time with it.

Hopefully the packet I receive will give me more info, I was just going to try and get the process started in case it took forever. I'll check out the Canadian part of the forum too, I'm new to this site so didn't even realise there was one! Thank you so much :)
