My 1st US re-entry as a conditional GC holder

Hello everyone! :)

I'm a conditional GC holder and I recently traveled abroad. On Saturday I re-entered US for the very first time as a conditional LPR. Surprisingly, I didn't encounter any complications while doing so. The IO asked for my Slovene passport (which he stamped) and my conditional GC. The IO also collected my fingerprints and my photo. In all, it only took a few minutes to complete the process.

I wanted to share my positive experience with all of you and thank the ones who gave me advice prior to my departure.

Happy Monday!

fingerprints and photo? That smells new.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They took my fingerprints and photo too when I returned to the US from a 5-day trip using my 2-year GC (this was the first time I had left the US since I received it). I hadn't expected that. I had been fingerprinted and photographed plenty of times entering as a visitor or non-immigrant worker, but I thought as a GC holder I wouldn't.

I am not sure if all GC holders are now fingerprinted and photographed when the enter the US, I'd be interested in finding out.

Wiki says most non-USCs since 2009 (I guess it might exclude diplomatic or other "fancy" types ;)).

"Beginning January 18, 2009, most non-U.S. citizens (including lawful permanent residents) are subject to US-VISIT requirements."
