not necessarily. it's not that much of a leap in logic to assume that if one breaks laws just to get here, that they won't stop doing so. or do you have on rose colored glasses when you make statements like that above?

Once a criminal, always a criminal? I take it you don't believe in starting with a clean slate?

kinda difficult to start with a clean slate when the first action of the illegals i'm referencing is to commit an illegal act :P

me no comprende your answer. Let's just for a minute take this to a personal level. Even though you don't know him, do you think my husband because he entered illegally, is now disposed to a life of crime? Do you think I would be involved with someone who has a criminal mind and repeatedly walks all over the law? And aside from that, how would you feel if I were to tell you that he had been permanently banned from this country? On the contrary, how would you feel if I posted tomorrow that he was coming home? I'm just curious...

what's so difficult to understand about my statement above?

the first action of an illegal alien is to enter the country illegally. they've just gotten here and they've broken the law. do you really expect that with this disregard for the law that they will, for some strange reason, start to obey the law of the land which they ignored when they crossed the border?

I don't see why they wouldn't. Despite whatever their mindset might be (criminal or otherwise) what kind of illegal wants to get caught? I would think they would do whatever necessary to stay UNDER the radar.

To answer your question, no Ido not think your husband if by commiting one crime is disposed to a life of crime, however he should have to answer and be made accountable to the crime he DID WILLINGLY COMMIT!

IF your husband did enter the country Illegally he should be sent home and made to enter the legal way, IF he entered the country illegally & also worked illegally & also obtained 1 penny of any federal or state assistance, then should be made to pay it all back before re-entering.

Other than that not knowing him he seems like a nice guy!

And that again comes back to the reason they come here in the first place. Is it because they're evil people who have nothing better to do in life than cross borders and break laws? Or is it something else?

Lets assume by pure ignorance that the only crime Joe Illegal Alien commits is that of crossing illegally, lets say Joe doesn't work while he is here, doesn't drive

doesn't put any children in school, or take advantage of free medical care. doesn't traffic drugs, pays no taxes because he doesn't work.

Lets assume that Joe simply lurks around USA soil for years and does nothing more than be a honest hard working Volunteer.

5 years later Joe falls in love with Jane who is a legal Citizen

they get married and now Joe wants to work for the 1st time in 5 years and wants his GC.

well Joe finds out as if he did not already know, that he can not get GC having entered Illegally.

So good samritan Joe must return to his country of origin and enter legally then apply for AOS/ GC.

We welcome Joe because he is the 1st ILLEGAL ALIEN in history to have never commited any other crimes or violations other than crossing the border illegally.

We welcome him AFTER he goes back to his country of origin and applys the legal way.

Welcome JOE!

Yes it does matter. Because if I were to say that, just to be naughty, I'm going to illegally cross over the border to the USA today, because frankly, I don't have any respect for their laws, and I'm going to see how much trouble I can get into while I'm there...it's very different than saying, you know, I don't really want to go, I'm going to miss my wife and kids like crazy, but we've got to eat, I don't have any other choice, and I know that I may never get through that walk through the desert, but what kind of a father would I be to let my kids starve, and I better be careful while I'm there so I can spend enough time and make enough money to last us... I would say there's two drastically different motives, mindsets, and interests in coming to this country and that it will influence what they do while they're here.

what's so difficult to understand about my statement above?

Many people don't feel that crossing the border is an "illegal act", or at least not in the same

ballpark as "real" crimes, such as deception, theft or murder. There are many "crimes" that

people don't take seriously, such as soliciting the services of a prostitute or recreational drug use.

Yes, the law as currently written makes these acts illegal, but not everyone feels they should be.

Laws are not written in stone and can be changed.

I would like to see illegals displace all the uneducated white males from the workforce

The thing is illegal immigrants actually target an effect uneducated black males more so than whites. Basically pushing them further into poverty. So whoever is pro-unlimited mexican workers is technically against uneducated black males working..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The real issue is border security. It doesn't take e genius to realize that islamic extremists have made probably made good use of that 'open border' and have smuggled and are still smuggling weapons and other terrorists in..

That is what should be a priority.

Airport security is useless when one can literally walk in the back door..

PS what about all of the highly productive south American gangs that have entered like MS13...

• In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

• A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

• The leadership of the Columbia Lil’ Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.’s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

Immigration politics have similarly harmed New York. Former mayor Rudolph Giuliani sued all the way up to the Supreme Court to defend the city's sanctuary policy against a 1996 federal law decreeing that cities could not prohibit their employees from cooperating with the INS. Oh yeah? said Giuliani; just watch me. The INS, he claimed, with what turned out to be grotesque irony, only aims to "terrorize people." Though he lost in court, he remained defiant to the end. On September 5, 2001, his handpicked charter-revision committee ruled that New York could still require that its employees keep immigration information confidential to preserve trust between immigrants and government. Six days later, several visa-overstayers participated in the most devastating attack on the city and the country in history.

New York conveniently forgot the 1996 federal ban on sanctuary laws until a gang of five Mexicans-four of them illegal-abducted and brutally raped a 42-year-old mother of two near some railroad tracks in Queens. The NYPD had already arrested three of the illegal aliens numerous times for such crimes as assault, attempted robbery, criminal trespass, illegal gun possession, and drug offenses. The department had never notified the INS.

so it's a family duty to invade the usa?

Almost one in six inmates in Arizona, for example, is a Mexican citizen.
