I work in a factory. I've mentioned the company before, but I won't here...just in case. Several months ago, 25 illegal workers were fired. They were all using the same social security number. The number was allegedly the number of the (legal) brother of one of the illegals. Approximately 50% of the workforce at the place I work is illegal. (That would be about 1000 people) Most are from Mexico. Do you really believe that only 25 out of those 1000 were using someone else's SSN?

It's fun to come to work on a day when there's an INS (or whatever it's called now) threat. There's NO one there. Makes for an easy night. lol

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Is that someone an illegal Mexican immigrant, or an "overstayer" who had a valid visa

at some point?

Hmmm. The language you used to phrase that question implies that there are different degrees of illegality with the illegal Mexican immigrant being more illegal than the overstayer.

If that is what you are saying, I beg to differ. An "overstayer" is an illegal immigrant. An "overstayer" is just as illegal as a Mexican who swam across the Rio Grande or a Canadian who drove into the US and never left. Any legislation that applies to illegals has to apply to them all.

What about the ones who have been paying with the ITIN in their own name?

Yeah really, like anyone would do that.

There's already been an example on this thread of someone who did that.

Is that someone an illegal Mexican immigrant, or an "overstayer" who had a valid visa

at some point?

If a person already had a valid SSN or ITIN, it's possible they would continue using it

after their visa expired.

Was an EWI-not an overstayer.

If they have been "paying" income taxes already, they have been attributing them to someone else. Therefore, the person who has the social security number they've "acquired" will eventually be investigated for undeclared income by the IRS. Screw the illegals who have been "paying taxes".

Not true. My husband paid taxes the entire time he was here illegally and he did so with an ITIN number. He paid in social security and whatever else we pay when we have stuff deducted from our check. All of which he will never see and no one else will either.

your feelings about illegal immigration are well known. you think everyone should support such as it affects you. such won't happen with me ;)

Well.... at least we know who they are, and they passed a criminal background check

to get their visa. That's gotta be better than a Mexican who swam across the river.

Actually Charity's feelings on illegal immigration are very similar to mine, which I have already posted. However, there are many misconceptions about things just abounding on this forum which is why we, as the people who know better, spend (waste) our time pointing out that such sweeping generalizations such as "none of them pay taxes," "all of them use services" are incorrect.

They all do, but to different degrees. Each time they drive on a taxpayer funded road, they are using taxpayer money. Each time they walk on a taxpayer funded sidewalk, they are using taxpayer funded money. Each time they cut a hole in a taxpayer funded fence on the southern border.... you get the idea.

He didn't swim, he walked across the desert. And yes, he was an EWI.

And Charles, I don't agree with illegal immigration as I have stated previously in these many threads. The difference between you and me is I know what what illegal immigration is like from living with it, not hearing stories about it. My experience is life learned, not hearsay. That's why I understand it better than you. I wouldn't expect you to agree with illegal immigration since I don't agree with it either. That being said, I can see who the more openminded person is here by the statements that are made. Thank goodness I'm not so closeminded as to not be able to understand someone else's situation, whether I agree or disagree.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

If you knew about it, you wouldn't be saying things which are incorrect. How can you know about something, but not know about all aspects of it?

and which part of what i've said is incorrect? and your last sentence makes no logical sense whatsoever. one can know something about say..addition.....but not know calculus.....yet they still know math ;)

Charles, it's not ego, it's fact! Don't try to make me think you know more about illegal immigration than I do. I lived it for almost 3 years before Javier went back to Mexico for his visa. If you want to try and say you have learned more about it then me in the 3 years of me actually living and dealing with it every day then I'd say you are on quite an ego trip. So, you keep it up.

And like Melissa says, if you know about it, get your facts straight. If I know about a subject I don't go off spouting incorrect information about it. If I don't know anything about what I'm talking about I keep my mouth shut as to not make myself look like an idiot. Maybe you should take a hint.

did i claim to know more about it than you? point out where i did that.

that you have had this experience with illegal immigration does not make you an expert by any stretch of the imagination. such might make you more aware of some aspects of it but certainly not an expert. perhaps you can impress us with your knowledge of the negative economic impact illegals have on the usa?

you parrot missliss about something i've said, yet can't offer any substance about what this is. are you going to dodge that question too?
