Unfortunately, I'm with Purple Hibiscus on this one and I don't agree that enforcement is the answer. Is it really so out there of an idea that we won't even consider the cause and effect relationship of the various world problems. I've tried to no end to point out on this thread the various reasons WHY illegal aliens cross over that border. Am I really the only one who sees that to fix a problem you have to address the cause? Well, me and PH. If we're going to spend money, why not spend it on making Mexico livable for Mexicans? Give Juan Illegal a REASON to want to stay SAFE at home, with his wife and kids where he belongs. Make that a viable solution for him. We're so obsessed with looking powerful and mean that we won't even consider a more humanitarian, but also more effective, solution to the problem. That's really sad!

And further, as PH said, once these things are done...once Mexico (or whatever country) is livable for its inhabitants, there will be no need for walls.

hell - if thats the case - why not have the entire globe go communist/socialist! then EVERYONE gets the same and wether one crosses the border or not, its still all the same, so in the end, no reason to leave their alotted land! or better yet, PAY THEM TO STAY HOME yeah all that works! and its us who are the problem, we don't throw enough MONEY at the problem (humaitarian aid) LOL.

hysterical

i can think of some solutions that would make juan illegal want to stay safe at home - land mines on the border

The hatefulness that just spews from you is absolutely disgusting. I don't know how you can have such ugly and nasty feelings toward other human beings.

just how is that hateful? trespassing is a serious charge, you know.

so in short, if we want to stop being invaded, we should give mexico lots of money so they'll stay there?

Either way, we'll be spending lots of money. We can either waste it on a wall, or use it where it can be of some assistance.

The US is already feeding Mexico by giving Mexican Govt. $$, also by trade and oil purchases.

I say we cut Mexico OFF, Stopp all Foriegn Aid to any country whose citizens are known to be crossing the USA southern Border, Cut all foreign aid and trade to those countries that HELP ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIENS cross the border

Until they take care of the people enough and Secure their side of the border. Cut them off, no more $$ not 1 red penny.

the land mine idea is a bit brutal but an Electrically charged wall that goes 4 feet deep and 10 feet High lined with Pit Bulls thats a good start. And clear all tunnels coming into the USA from South of the border then Blast them permantly shut. REMOVE.

all Water stations in the desert meant to HELP ILLEGALS , if they want to cross illegally they should bring their own damn water or die of thirst.

No of course they don't instead they steal, commit crime, & TAKE TAKE TAKE for their own personal Agenda.

They cost USA 10+ Billion per Year.

They are a financial liability to the growth of the USA economy in addition a porous southern border combined with AID to illegals and Potential terrorists from countries south of the border pose a physical threat to the Security of the USA.

And further, as PH said, once these things are done...once Mexico (or whatever country) is livable for its inhabitants, there will be no need for walls.

Unfortunately Mexico has a right to be Mexico. And the USA has a right to be the USA.

A lot of Mexico's problems are self inflicted. It is not up to anyone except for Mexico to fix its own problems. Unfortunately it has become the policy of Mexico to dump its poverty and unemployment on the USA on a massive scale as its policy solution.

The USA has a right to protect its own best interests in this case to protect our country. The USA is not about Mexicanizing our own country.

Until the Mexican people end their corrupt oligarchic government and cease to double their population every 25 years...I see that the USA has no other option but to protect our own best interests.

The USA has increased its population by 1/3 in roughly 40 years mostly by immigration. Mexico has repeatedly doubled its own population in 25 year increments through internal births.

Who controls their own national destiny? Whose fault is that? It is up to Mexico to fix its own problems, not America. Letting them all come here is a non-solution that is detrimental to America. Importing poverty for cheap labor that doesn't pay for itself is only helping rich exploiters while hurting the broader American society.

Mexico already supplies the biggest share of both legal and illegal immigration into America. Is this the diversity the liberal left crows so much about? It is time for a huge change in policy. America should never let one country or region dominate immigration. Otherwise we will become 2 countries within a country.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
