Congress may be divided on Immigration, but Americans are not

A very proper concern. I have no idea what the repercussions are going to be. What is the answer though? How much would it cost to remove the illegals and what burden would that place on the concerned authority?

I cannot see in all honesty how ANYBODY will get legal papers once 10 or 20 million new petitions get tossed into the mix. And by ANYBODY I mean legal and illegal immigrants alike

Imagine that.....Steven's about soil himself over finding a partner in his quest for the annihilation of borders and the establishment of a one-world government....

Sure will be nice to kill off all of those pesky cultural identities, won't it?

You WILL be assimilated.

Hopefully you're listening to what PH has been saying and actually have something constructive to say other than using it as an opportunity to insult me. ;)

It's much more fun to insult you though. :P

No, I haven't been listening to the flower. Once someone starts US-bashing, I just tune them out. I'm aware of most of the problems the US has. I understand why most of the world hates us. Do I give a shi+? No. When someone from another country comes here and starts preaching about how we SHOULD be doing things, I walk away.....to avoid punching them in the mouth.

As has already been mentioned, someone from the UK telling us how to handle immigration is fukcing hilarious. Hey, if the flower can lump all Americans together, I can do the same with Brits. (Sorry Sian, baby. lol)

US bashing, yep I am wearing the black hat.

In the first place nothing I could say would change your mind! when I gave you the example of ten of my freinds coming and invading your yard, you said you would ask me why I had to play there! Okay maybe we should have all border patrol agents do the purple habiscus border solutions bill, run around wildly asking why they cant go somewhere else, Gee I think you got a winner there,I think it just might work! and maybe we could drop leaflets that say we love you but cant you please just not come here, and attach the leaflets to jugs of water and some food! and maybe a check for $200.00, YEP YEP KOOLAID!

I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you are arguing that in order to maintain cultural identity we have to put up walls?

It is certainly true that the there is a blurring around the edges when societies assimilate and I don't think there's any law that is going to stop that happening.

Am I promoting the illimination of borders? No, I am arguing that there might be ways of making borders less volatile if, as a world society we were more ready to explore commonalities than exploit differences.

Yes, my view isn't exactly right of center but I am still waiting for the proof that building walls achieves anything except complacency for those on the 'green' side of the wall.

Here I might have posted this 2 hours ago and you cant REMEMBER!

Lets PRETEND Hibiscus, Me and ten of my buddies open the gate to your front yard and begin a good ol game of badmitton, what you gonna do Hmmmmmmmmmmm let us play? or tell us to leave and get OFF your property! Im sure you would be running out there with a cold six pack asking if you could play!

HIBISCUS SAID:How about this, you and your buddies came along and start playing in my front yard and instead of my losing my temper and ordering you off my property, I ask you why you need to play there in the first place. Maybe then a more permanant solution might be reached

You keep saying OTHER WAYS, lets have a couple of your IDEAS!

I just love how the rest of the world thinks they know America, and how rudely they are awakened when America gets pissed off and decides to fight back...

Please continue to believe that agression and wall building solves your problems.

So what should they do instead of falling short of building a wall??

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

As soon as you hear "if you don't like A, B or C about America, leave", you know

they have no real argument.

America does not want to become Europe as Europe does not want to become America. So why do so many people migrate here, then try to change it because they don't like it.. The problems America faces are not the same as the issues Europe faces... All I hear is retort and no actual real world solutions..

According to Arnold it would cost $40 million to remove all the illegals from the state of California

Why remove them when they can remove themselves? Enforce workplace verification against employers and they will leave. The fact is...you get what you tolerate. If they cannot find illegal work in the USA they don't have to go home, but they won't stay here. Let them charter a boat to the UK. Apparently the Limeys are worried sick over the illegals. Let them take care of them.

The US economy won't collapse without the illegals. That is pure hogwash.

The fact is that some businesses will be hurt. Just like dope dealers, pimps, con artists, and others that break the law to earn a dishonest $$$, the employers of illegal aliens deserve to have their illegal business practices curtailed.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

America does not want to become Europe as Europe does not want to become America.

You're wrong about the second part. Europe does seem to want to become America -- hence

the rapid and seemingly uncontrolled expansion of the EU (aka the United States of Europe --

"are we big enough yet? are we bigger than America yet?") and their immigration policies

("let's be all immigrant-friendly and multicultural, like America.") They are just jealous of

America’s prosperity, power and pre-eminence in the world, and hold the naïve notion that

American power could be somehow subverted if they were big enough.

So why do so many people migrate here, then try to change it because they don't like it.

People migrate here for different reasons. Some just want to be with their wives and husbands,

others move here to make money and leave. Yet, many immigrants love this country and

want to make it a better place. Why is that wrong?

Well, I can see how it might be a slap in the face if, by coming over illegally, the illegal alien got the rights and privileges that come along with being a legal permanent resident, but they don't..BS THEY DO. So what are you envious of?

THEY DO GET PRIVILIAGES that other immigrants ( legal ) do NOT,

ILLEGAL ALIENS TAKE PRIVILIAGES,

THEY TAKE FREE MEDICAL CARE STEAL FROM thos ehear legally that need it more!

FREE GOVT AIDE again stealing from federal GOVT.

THEY DRIVE ILLEGALLY when THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO,

They work without authorization,

They put their kids in schools and do NOT pay anything into the systemns they STEAL FROM, yet they demand the standrds be lowered to accomodate them.

THEY TAKE THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE With violent crimes.

ILLEGAL ALIENS COST 10+BILLIONS per year, causing the suffering of millions of people mostly CHILDREN & ELDERLY.

Your are blind and ignorant if you do not see this. However i know you are not that stupid, you just refuse to admit the truth!

I just want to make clear again that I don't support illegal aliens-I just understand them. It seems like people are asking me questions such as "why does that make it ok?" maybe assuming that I think it's ok or something, I don't know...

You DO SUPPORT & ADVOCATE criminal actions of these Illegals if you defend their acts based on "intentions" so you DO support ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

I can't even talk to you-your posts are crazy and extreme, saying the same things over and over again, painting everyone with the same brush, honestly I wonder if you even believe yourself and all the ####### you feel like you need to post in all caps. Your posts don't even make sense-one second you're telling me my husband seems like a nice guy, and the next saying all illegals steal, kill, drive, etc. Do you even know what it is you believe? I'm not sure you do-sounds more like you're just on a fanatic soapbox. Better come down before you hurt yourself.

And then you go and give yourself a thumbs up! Wow...

I did say your husband seems to be a nice guy , you said he was not in the country Illegaly, I said if he was he should be deported and made to come in the legal way, I never said Immigrans were not nice I said ILLEGAL ALIENS are CRIMINALS & SHOULD BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY, I never stated ALL illegals steal, however ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS Commited a Federal crime by entering Illegally,

In fact the US economy will save billions per year by removing Illegals, By NOT granting them 1 penny of assistance of any kind, so not only will the US economy save Billions per year US economy will THRIVE.

I agree with most of what you stated except fo rthe fact no need to build a wall. Thereis a need to build a wall when Drug Cartells, and leaders of other nations are aiding potential terrorists and Illegal Aliens to enter the country through a porous Border, they have incentive by being able to come into the USA and sell drugs, steal, commit crimes without any consequences, so Building a wall is neeccary with Militartyu Pressence and Govt. actions agaisnt those countries that do not help stop the illegal migration of its people,

I cannot believe it took 6 pages to get to this statement when it's so obvious. Take away the work opportunities, enforce checking of social security card validity, fine employers for hiring illegals . . . it's not rocket science and there's no need to waste the time or money on a wall.

Yet, many immigrants love this country and want to make it a better place.

These are the ideal type of immigrants a country would and should ask for and accept, with due process...

Some just want to be with their wives and husbands, others move here to make money and leave.

These types of immigrants should come and do their thing and shut up.. Don't try to change the country or criticize it because you don't like it.. No one is begging for this group of immigrants.. Unfortunatley this group seems to get the most attention as they have squeakiest wheel, per say...
