Hello all. :) We hope to soon schedule Katherine's flight to the U.S. We are just curious what

to expect at the Point of entry? Specifically, wait times, questions asked by immigration officer,

any problems or issues people have had. We were also told that Hawaii is a very easy, laid back POE.

Thank you for any comments or advice. :)

Jessa and I flew in to Detroit on Delta.

We went into the "non-Citizen/no Green card" line and it went relatively fast. We went through together, I presented my paper work first then stepped back away from the officer's work area and let the officer question Jessa. Only a few comments (asking for paperwork, where the final destination is, etc) and the standard admonishment to get married within 90 days. IMO if you have made it through this far and everything is in order you will have no problems at POE.

POE was easy for my wife at HNL

From 'View My Timelines' POE Review

She should have no problems. My wife said it easy. Just have her befriend a Filipino person on the same flight. Also there should be plenty of Filipinos around to ask for help. She would just ask where to go for her connecting flight.

Seems like I waited about 1.5 to 2 hours for Honey Boo Boo Child to come up the stairs. It was Atl, which is not known for having a diverse friendly staff in Customs.

Chie came through SFO (San Francisco). I selected that for her POE specifically to avoid LAX. SFO is much nicer and it was a good move. I met here there and my flight came in several hours earlier than her's from Manila but SFO is so much nicer than LAX. She blew right through while I was waiting in the designated are for those waiting for international arrivals. Piece of cake. May want to put SFO in your considerations for POE. Just my opinion that SFO is much nicer, less crowded than LAX. Seattle is another you might consider.

You have many, many, many choices of airlines out of Manila to the US. Take your pick. Go for the best price and time that suits your agenda. You hear negativity about PAL but it's okay. Maybe not the best but it's not the worst either. I have flow so many back and forth to the Phils over the years. My personal favorites are Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Singapore Airlines. Korean Airlines and China Airlines are okay, too. The US carriers (United, American and Delta mainly) are okay, though being from the Phils you may prefer the Asian based carriers if not only for the food chices. When Chie came she flew PAL. It was her very first flight and she had no complaints. I have flown PAL in the old days, during there more difficult times and even more recently in the past several years. They're okay. there is better for sure, but I assure you there is worse, also!
