I missed my flight to the US while I was being interrogated in secondary. Once I was approved to travel, the airline put me on a series of flights that eventually got me to where I was going. I didn't pay anything more. Not exactly the same situation, but I'm assuming most airlines would do something similar if you had a return ticket.

This is an outcome I don't even want to ponder over. :(:help:

As I said im my earlier post every airline has a contract of carriage or "terms and conditions" that covers refusal of entry here is a link to what Delta follows. (See 45 (B)). Here's United's (See rule 19)

Almost every airline holds the passenger responsible.

Well, the question is pretty straightforward.

In case the officers turn you away at Port Of Entry and you literally have to take the next available flight home, who pays for you to go back?

Do you have to pay yourself or is it covered by your roundtrip ticket?

Does anyone have any experiences?

I have a friend who was once turned back as there was something wrong on her visa, can't remember exactly what, but she was turned back and had to pay for her own ticket.

My wife, who died 5 years ago, and I were denied in Moscow about 7 years ago. Mix up on dates on our visa. No arguing. The same Delta plane we had arrived on. Even same seats with a used coffee cup in the pocket that had flown over with me. Aeroflot refunded my other tickets. Luggage was transfered OK also. Very humiliating experience. And sad.
