DCF is no longer available in Canada.

Well I guess I got that goin for me too!

Last question!

Does he have to wait out the entire approval process to come stay with me in the US?

And if he can't come LIVE in the US, is he at least allowed to come visit during the process?

I was given a promotion and it requires me working from the office now so traveling will be close to impossible during the training process.

I think he must be able to come visit as we've had lots of trouble at the border and they said showing filing paperwork would help in the future.

Shame on me for not reading the negatives... but has anyone ever tried?

The applicant will most likely not be able to enter the US while their IR1-CR-1 Visa is being processed.

Can I file a K3 visa if I want? I'm most likely not paying for it anyways. Or does that just cause more issues?

I'm reading that filing with my address as an "abroad" address many times expedites the process... is this the case for Canada as well? And would I have to prove that I am a legal resident here? I just spend months at a time here but I hold a full time job in the US so I don't "technically" live here.

Someone posted that Canada doesn't do DCF which means you would have to mail your petition to the lockbox address.

Not talking about DCF.

People are saying if you file the IR1/CR1 with a foreign address for myself, they get processed faster.

I am going to start to file paperwork soon and I'm almost 2 months out from our 2 year anniversary.

Should I just file for permanent status then?

Edit: I'm so used to posting in this forum but it seems I belong in spousal now, sorry.
