Hi there,

My appointment letter was sent on July 24th and I never received it. On August 2nd I called USCIS inquiring about the letter. On August 9th they sent a copy of that letter for the biometrics which I received on August 13th.

My appointment was for August 10th... I sent the notice back along with the reference from the call to re-schedule the appointment. I also called the postal office to make them aware that is IMPORTANT to deliver the mail at the correct address. It has happen a few times that we get other people's mail and ours goes somewhere else... It is so frustrating.

Hopefully the next appointment letter will be delivered on time.

I AM SOOO FRUSTRATED!

Sorry, just venting.

Ah, I'm sorry. That sucks. Fortunately, there is a record of your attempt to find out about the date of the biometrics and you should receive a re-scheduled appointment soon. On the very, very, very off chance that the same thing happens again, take the letter and try for a walk-in biometric appointment, explaining what happened to the guard where the biometrics are done. I suspect they will allow the walk in, especially under those circumstances.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thank you Kathryn, it was nice to hear something nice.

All the best,

Andrea

Do not worry, here is why. My biometrics appointment was yesterday and I completely forgot about it. When I remembered later in the evening, I freaked out big time! (the biometrics notice does say "if you miss your appointment your application will be considered abandoned"). So, I went to the biometrics office early this morning, hoping to beg my way in. They took my letter and did not even check for which date it was. I was in and out and had my fingerprints taken without issues. What a relief! So, my advise is just do a walk-in as soon as you can.

Thank you Sweetdream, I scheduled an InfoPass appointment for yesterday. Went to Charleston, had my fingerprints and picture taken and now am waiting for the interview letter.

Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Just a short follow-up: Biometrics taken on August 31, letter for the interview sent on September 7th, received on September 13. Interview scheduled for October 16th will last two hours.

Will post on or after October 16.

Kind regards,

Andrea
