Really ? What an interesting comment from you. It sheds a whole new light on your repeated advice to MENA members to "ask their imam" in regard to just about everything under the sun.

Not really. This is situational, and solely on one situation. Lying Scumbag Imam? Needs to go down.

My advice is sound, fwiw, for those 'other' situations, when it IS best to talk with the Imam at the spouse's / fiancee's local mosque.

It's not easy to label me, but I offer the label of 'cross-religionist' .

If it had been a Roman Priest, caught fornicating with a goat or human, I'd have the same outrage.

Religious leaders are put to a higher standard. You know that... Or I pray you Know That...

"Happy to see an Imam going down" does not indicate one individual situation. Had you said "Happy to see this Lying Scumbag going down," it would be entirely different.

If it had been a Roman (Catholic) Priest accused of a heinous crime, would you say "Happy to see a priest going down" ? If it had been a Jewish Rabbi accused of a heinous crime, would you say "Happy to see a rabbi going down" ?

I hope you can see my point.

Fascinating. So if a black person is accused of a crime, you are "happy to see a black person go down" ? Or if a woman is a accused of a crime, you are "happy to see a woman go down" ? Just want to be clear on your mindset here - this has nothing to do with the particular individual accused, but rather the "group" to which you perceive them to belong ?

Also, if you are happy to see religious leaders in general "go down," why would you refer people to them ?

If you believe that all religious leaders should be in jail, why would you suggest that people seek advice from them ?

You are definitely confused.

Thanks for clearing that up. You have attacked two fellow posters but I am certain we would all value to hear your opinion on an Imam who planted torn bits of the Koran on a disabled Christian child. How does that make you feel?

Eh ? I haven't "attacked" anyone.

If this Iman did what he's accused of, of course it's appallingly heinous. Not that I agree with blasphemy laws in the first place, but of course to knowingly and deliberately try to frame an innocent person in order that she be charged with a death penalty crime is horrible and unforgiveable.

I do wonder why you feel the need to continually demand that I utter the obvious. Why do you try to imply that I would or could approve of this ? Do you really and honestly believe that I would make excuses for such things ? If so, you are really off the charts.

However, I do keep in mind that he is at this time accused, and has not yet faced trial.

Sorry, you've deigned to twist things, much. If I've offended you, I apologize profusely, bow in dust whilst walking backwards..

I am not "twisting" anything. You said you were "happy to see an imam go down," rather than talking about this specific accused person. I asked you to clarify your remarks, and you did - saying you would be happy to see any religious leader "go down."

If that's not what you meant to say, I welcome your further explanation, because I really didn't want to think that you are happy to see religious leaders "go down," regardless of what they've done or not done. You haven't "offended" me - I was just curious as to why you would constantly advise people to "talk to their imam" if you were happy at the thought of imams "going down."

@ WOM - why were you not as keen to jump into this discussion and to defend a helpless, mentally disabled chistian child before the blame shifted on to that 'Imam'? Did not miss a second after that to make it some sort of hatred against imams, did you? Bravo!!! You've done it again, shifted the entire focus on world hatred for Islam instead of talking about the original thread.

Huh ?

Huh ?

You're required to be reading VJ threads and respond to them when other people's whims decide you should, duh.

Anything deviating from that means you obviously have an "agenda". Hopefully in your PM box you'll find Confused 2 has sent you a schedule of when you should be responding, reading, etc, so you know when and what is acceptable for you to respond to.
