See, I have no problem with abortions myself. Actually more women should have them (or just not get pregnant period). I'm pro population control. :)

My problem comes in though, when it comes to a father of a child. If a father doesn't want a child, he's still responsible for it by law. If he wants the child and the mother doesn't, she can abort the child and there's nothing he can do about it.

Not only that, he will go to jail if he doesn't pay the woman money every week.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

All of which can be avoided with a mere condom, or more permanently a vasectomy.

hmm. sucks that when a person makes the decision to have sex with another person, they both have to deal with the consequences.

also, this is completely untrue. not every deadbeat has to pay child support. most deadbeats escape it for as long as they can. i chose not to bother opening a case for child support against my ex because i believe in personal accountability. i don't want the state chasing down money for my son from his own father. and as i expected, his father hasn't contributed a penny toward his existence for years. and that's okay with me. i don't want or need his money - my son does. i don't need to be the middle (wo)man..so if his dad ever decides to pay a daycare bill or buy some clothes or school supplies - he can do that all on his own...

dare I ask, what is a 16 year old girl doing getting pregnant in the first place?

Why would anyone let a 16 year old make a life or death decision over human life? In most jurisdictions, a sixteen year old lacks the capacity to even enter into an installment agreement.

This happened in the Dominican Republic. What are your views about the laws in that country ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Ever seen the show "16 and Pregnant"?

You might as well call it "16 Year Old Losers that will Fail Epically at Life"

So let them get an abortion if they choose to.

It's what I would have done if I'd gotten pregnant at 16.

Good for them. And some give the baby up for adoption. And some choose to keep it.

They're lucky to get to choose.

One post violating the TOS has been removed, along with one quoting it. There will be no further warnings.

No names? I hope the offending poster was informed that his/her privileges were in eminent danger. These sudden drops of the ban hammer without any real warning are getting annoying.
