Either way, you kill the Mother then you kill the now fetus (at 9 weeks embryo becomes fetus). So it makes WAY more sense to TRY to save the Mother.

Tragic isn't it that on order to protect the fetus, both mother and child he to die.

Tragic that this poor woman didn't even get a choice as to how to proceed. Her body and her life decisions were made by her government.

Scary, scary thought.

It amazes me that people are so against "big government" and want the government to stay out of their personal lives, but then support laws that ban personal life decisions.

This is just backwards 3rd world thinking.

Before you get on me for my views, my wife is from Costa Rica and they have similar nonsensical laws there. For example, they don't teach about birth control in schools (due to the religion). And every other 16 year old is pushing a baby carriage down Central Avenue in the capital.

It actually disgust me that anyone feels they have a right to force a woman into having a child they do not want. And on top of that using the excuse that it is gods will... I find it disgusting. Didn't god give us free will? Aren't we allowed to use that free will?

For those that say it's gods will, you don't have to make an abortion, it's your choice your opinion you have a right to that opinion for YOURSELF. But you do NOT have the right to FORCE that OPINION onto others.

Free will doesn't give you the right to do anything you want.

No, but it should give you the right to make your own decisions when it comes to your health and your life.

The life of a fetus is just as important.

The life of a fetus is just as important.

In this case, the life of the fetus was determined to be MORE important.

The life of an actual human being always takes precedent over that of a possible human being. Unless she chooses otherwise. It was pure, cold, calculated murder.

The life of a fetus is just as important.

No, it wasn't. Consciousness beats lack of self awareness. Reality beats possibility.

By all means, if a pregnant woman with serious health concerns decides that her fetus is more important than her life and is willing to make that potential sacrifice, all the power to her. However, it shouldn't be a LAW that that sacrifice be made.

Let a woman choose what to do with her life and HER body. Government shouldn't be doing it.
