The guy do the decent thing and step away from the table. There's a difference between a poor choice of words and blatant ignorance. Idiot. At the very least a sizeable donation to rape charities is in order.

It's only selective outrage if you assume that 'the left' are some sort of monolithic corporate entity - they are not.

At the end of the day a guy running for political office has made some stupid and insensitive comments - he isn't the first and he won't be the last. It doesn't take a lot of effort 'yes - those comments were stupid and insensitive' and move on. It's not even partisan to say so.

The favorite President of the left? Clinton left office with the highest approval rating (~65%) of any post-war President. Now, unless you say that the left makes up two thirds of the US population, you might want to re-think that statement. Clinton was a sleazy guy and had his things with women. He ain't no saint. But he is as good a politician as you will find and he was a darn good President.

Maybe - but I don't think he can claim his choice of words was poor. He clearly suggested that women's bodies could somehow avoid pregnancy from rape - that's not a choice of words, it's just ignorant and wrong.

Whether or not this has torpedoed his chances - he should certainly be making a donation to a rape charity

So it's ok that Clinton was sleazy and abused women because in your opinion he was a good President. I don't think i would admit that I was that much of hypocrite. .

The difference in conservatives is we don't defend scumbags like the senatorial candidate that made that remark. You can't find a liberal anywhere that will not defend Clinton who was a sexual predator, Kennedy and Condit that killed women.
