I'm an American citizen who just married an Egyptian man in Egypt. I'm going to file the I-130 petition to get my husband into the US. We want to know is it better to use my Egyptian address instead of my US one? Since, i'm not going to leave Egypt without my husband hopefully. We also want to ask about the evidence we should include in the package to prove I have an American address if I use the Egyptian one for filing. Also, what evidences are good to support the bona fides of marriage?

You've started 3 threads asking essentially the same question, just in the last few days, and been answered already. It is best not to start multiple threads on the same question, it's confusing for people answering.

I would suggest you read the guides you have been given the links to.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

you have asked this question several times and have been given your answer. It won;t change. You need to prove that you have a domicile aka residence in the US in order for your husband to be issued a visa. End of story.

I think I know why you're asking about the verification of the signature. I'll say frankly that they have ways of verifying your signature such as from past tax transcripts that were filed. If you're worried about another person signing for you in order to save money on costs know that as long as you gave that person your permission to sign your name for you then it is legal. Also you can fill out and sign all the paper work yourself from Egypt then have it scanned and emailed to whoever in the States is going to send the paperwork off for you. Then there is no worry about the signature because it is authentic even if it's a copy and you have the original. If they for some reason request the original documents you should keep them to produce them.

We did the scan and then email process for the signatures since I was in the States and he was in Egypt and that worked fine. They never asked for the originals. Your joint bank account and apartment lease will be sufficient for bonafide evidence of a marriage with co-mingling of finances. You may also want to submit pictures of you two together such as the wedding, honeymoon and with family.

As some have said here it is better to file from Egypt if you're living there with your husband and indicate that in a cover letter when you go to file. Say something short and to the point such as a brief timeline of events and what you're filing for and where you are currently residing. People living with their spouses abroad used to file DCF which is direct consular filing and it cut the processing time down to 6 months max. In 2009 the US Embassy's abroad have mostly done away with that and now everything seemed to have to be routed to the States. Still I have read many times since then that if a SO indicates they're residing with their spouse in their home country and filing from there that the wait time is considerably reduced. So I would certainly go that route and file from Egypt indicating your abroad address. I don't think they are worried about if you have a residence in the States as much as if you can provide for an immigrant status SO without being a burden on the government. That's what the I-864 Affidavit of Support is for from what I recall. If you can show that you can support your spouse then you'll be fine otherwise you'll need a co-sponsor or joint sponsor to cover both of you.

Sending you best wishes on your visa process. I know being new to it all can be overwhelming. I hope you keep in touch and let us know what you choose to do and how the process goes for you filing from abroad. I've only seen one other member post recently this year of filing their petition from Egypt.
