Hi,

I would like to confirm the schedule of SMEF-COW guidance counseling seminar schedule. My country of destination is Norway. When I looked at the website of CFO (cfo.gov.ph), when you scroll down, it says there for SMEF-COW office, for Norway - Monday 1:30 pm.

But when I looked at the website of SMEF-COW, it says Monday to Friday for all countries. I am quite confused, because I will be arriving to Philippines next week for vacation only for 2 weeks. And I believe August 27, Monday is holiday. As much as possible I want to settle this as early as possible, I am going to philippines for pleasure not for administrative purposes.

To all who have been to SMEF-COW recently for CFO guidance counseling seminar, do they have per country of destination too? Or I can just go there any day? Pls. help.

Hi I read your comment in one of the post here.. I am not pretty sure on my answer.. I believe USA is very demanding that's why they have seminar from Monday-Friday.. In my understanding all the seminars for "all" countries which held from Monday to Friday are only for Pdos.. Yes August 27 is holiday.. You may prefer to go there on next Monday (September 3) According to their website seminars for spouse/fiance of Norwegian are only available during Monday.. Better call them at (632) 913-6439 or email them smef_cow@yahoo.com.ph

Thanks for your reply. I am afraid to take my CFO seminar on Sept. 3, 2012, Since my departure date at NAIA is next day (Sept. 04, 2012). In case they ask some more documents or whatever. I want to settle it right away.

Also I have more question, do you think I really need a CFO, got married abroad but no report of marriage yet, and my passport still maiden name. Got a temporary residence permit renewable every year(spouse sponsor) issued in Norway.

Sorry for asking, coz I have limited time to call SMEF on wednesday, my arrival in Philippines is thursday night, so I have to make sure if I am coming early morning of Friday, due to the fact having 20 hours flight.

not done with CFO yet, will be flying to manila from Iloilo next week Aug. 28 and have medical first before CFO but planning to take my CFO at SMEF.. CFO main office got diff. schedule from SMEF, so just follow SMEF or call before you go. besides they got 3 session per day.

I had my seminar August 1 and the counselor told us that all the filipino who will leave the country or already left needs to attend the seminar (for fiance/spouses are CFO and for all the filipino who will be working in other country are required to attend PDOS).. If you already attended the seminar then you don't have to go there this time,immigration will stop you if you don't have the sticker.. Just prepare all the requirements they need and you will not be asked to come back...

Ah ok, yeah I guess I should follow na nga lng the SMEF, really can't move on this CFO thing, something on my mind said that it has to be done. My hubby said just go on Friday, if they turned me down, I will insist. And explained to them that I have limited time.

>2 photocopy of my birth certificate

>2 photocopy of my passport

>my passport (gusto lang nila mkta to, you don't have to pass your passport)

>parents consent (because I am just 21 y/o)

>divorce decree ni fiance ko

>birth certificate ni fiance ko

>lastly your payment which cost P650.00

That's all.. They actually asked me for my fiance passport copy kaso hndi ko dala.. Pero di nman ako pinabalik because I have the divorce decree and Bc ni fiance..

Ok sis if you wanted na mka mura ka, baba ka na ng cubao siguro nman alam mo na cubao or Ortigas, then get a cab from there and tell to driver na e dropped ka sa LRT katipunan station.. Next to SMEF lng kasi yong LRt..

I never travelled to manila alone. But I'll find my wait to get to the seminar. Either I'll bring hubby or just rent hotel car. Would you believe never tried LRT. hehehhe

I have my NSO birth certificate authenticated last year, no expiry date naman cguro ang NSO Birth certificate db???

I have my marriage certificate authenticated by Philippine consulate here.

Ask ko lng, is it ok that my passport is still maiden name? Will the SMEF allow it? What you think poh?

Problem is I dont have a birth certificate of my husband, only his passport.

Lhat kmi under k1 category..Yes sis ok na siguro passport nya, photocopy lng hihingin nla and your marriage certificate.. Not familiar kasi sa spouse category eh.. You can bring your hubby but he will have to wait for you outside until the seminar will be done.. Seminar will takes 2-3 hours.. If ok sknya to wait outside.. I'll call SMEF for you nlng then I will PM you.. madali nlng pag travel mo kasi my landmark nman.. yes better rent a car kasi medyo kakaconfused dun sa area na un.. For sure the driver knows where is katipunan LRT station..

Yeah, I am worried to bring my husband this is his first time in Philippines. If its ok with you, when you call SMEF, can you ask them if having a passport maiden name is no problem, as long as I have my marriage certificate authenticated in Philippine Consulate here. I believe Reporting of Marriage to NSO or Philippine Consulate is NOT mandatory. I dont want to change my surname yet, I just renewed my passport.
