Fist off I'd like to thank the people for this site and all the people who try to help others here.

I'd like to post up the short version of our experience at the embassy for people to read.

About a year ago my fiancee was denied a F-1 visa because the CO believed that she had an intent on immigrating at the time. During the interview she was asked what was the relation between us. A friend had advised us to say that I was: 'just a friend' because his girlfriend did the same. So, during the interview my fiancee said that I was just a friend and we were not dating.

We were scared when we were going for out K-1 interview because since she said that we were 'just friends,' she had told a lie and therefore would be denied a visa. In our paperwork for the K-1 we had stated that we have been dating for about three and a half years, which is true. We were afraid that the previous CO who interviewed my fiancee made a note of our relationship which could later be used against us.

Luckily, nothing of the sort happened. My fiancee is not fluent in English and during her F-1 interview she was asked a lot of questions. Namely due to the fact that I prepared her application and paid for it. We had also applied for a two year visa instead of a one year. The lesson learned is have the fiancee live with a female relative.

Anyway the CO did take notes during her F-1 interview, but the only thing that came back to us was a note saying that I may have been married before. Other than that the only questions asked were ones that were on the visa journey questions list. The interview was conducted in English and I was allowed to help translate the questions if she didn't understand.

I was able to go into the embassy with her. Make sure you have your ID. Everything was straight forward and no separate questioning rooms for us.

At the end we were handed a piece of paper that said that we were approved and got the visa in the mail two days later.
