Hello

I am a S.Korean Citizen, and I have an exclusion order from Canada for 1 year.

I am planning to visit the united states, and I was wondering if the exclusion from canada would have any effect on entering the united states.

S.Korea is under the VWP, and I have no police/criminal records.

Also, I wanted to ask if my passport needed a 6 month valid period before i travel to enter the united states. Right now, from the day i plan to travel, my passport has just over 6 months validity, but passes the 6 month valid period from the day I plan to departure from the US.

Thanks!

Depends on why you are exluded from Canada. It is surely tagged on your passport (meaning when the US POE swipes your passport, it will come up) and if the US deems it important enough then they can exclude you.

Your passport needs, I believe, to be valid for 6 or more months when crossing so I think that aspect will be fine

Good luck

it is a long story, but pretty much i was going to canada for vacation and also had some plans to look into possible business opportunities. i didnt plan to actually work there, but at first i didnt tell them about the latter part of my intentions. i got put under misrepresentation.

also i was in and out of canada quite a bit in the past few years, and they were suspicous of that as well. well, unfortunatly they found out that during one of my stays in canada i did get payed a small amount of cash (few hundred dollars) by a canadian person as a thanks in making possible a business partnership between my company in korea and theirs in canada. other than that i never actually " worked " in canada as a visitor

as a result they gave an exclusion order for 1 year.

would all of this come up and be an issue at the US borders?

I don't think you would be automatically denied entry because of what happened in Canada, but you will most likely be questioned about it and thoroughly questioned about your intentions in the US. It's more than likely going to be up to whether the POE officer is satisfied with your explanations.
