hi! My fiance is scheduled for interview on sept 25th. My question is, when should he get his cenomar? and does it has to be from pasay? or just from local nso? I'm thinking if this should be at least a week ot 2 before the interview or something..

any ideas are pretty much appreciated!

Thanks!

He should get his cenomar before the interview... I would have say that its okay to get it from his local NSO, but lately, i read a lot of people getting 221G and the requirement is a Cenomar (for fiancee) and Cemar (for spouse) from Pasay NSO, so I suggest if Pasay is accessible for him, then he should get it from there... Goodluck!!!

The CENOMAR is good for 6 months, my fiance was one of those who got a 221g from the embassy requesting another CENOMAR from Pasay. From the responses that I received the one that makes perfect sense is that there have been some forgeries of documents there and some consulate officers will request that you get another one that will be delivered to the embassy by the 2GO courier service rather than you delivering it, that way the benificary of the petition will have no contact with the document and the courier service will certify that that it came directly from the NSO Pasay office. Your fiance will definately need a CENOMAR to take to the embassy along with the other documents. I hope this helps.

I don't know how they can make forgery. The document is printed on NSO security paper.

True. CENOMAR reverification is usually requested by the embassy during the interview if the document is at least 4 mos old. It's not that they don't accept regional NSO (local) issued cenomars but it is sop that the request is sent to the main NSO.

Mine was 3 months old during the interview and it was accepted without issue.

How about CEMAR? My wife and I got our CEMAR from NSO shortly after our marriage. I believe it was the Quezon office we went to. I hope they will accept it......I feel scared now.... :crying:

CEMAR and CENOMAR are the same. Did you mean Quezon City Office? Based on my experience, as long as your CEMAR is new then theres nothing to worry about. But it wont hurt to go to pasay and get another one right?

yeah....Quezon City. I thought that was the main NSO office. It won't be new anymore when she has her interview. It will be about 8 months old. But really, how can you tell when it was issued??? Do the documents have a print off date?

ALL documents from the NSO has print off dates. There are two sets of numbers below the barcode in each document, look at the first set just below the barcode. drop the last three numbers on the right, start counting seven numbers TO the left, that is the print off date.

AS to why the embassy asks for the most recent CENOMAR/CEMAR,

Marriage cert is valid no matter how old it is. CENOMAR and CEMAR generally expires in 6 mos because it shows the current status of the person. EVERY subsequent marriages is reflected in the CEMAR. The marriage cert on the other hand only shows the marriage with a particular person.
