She was nervous.. they asked her do you know your husband has another house here? And she said no. That was strange to ask as I am a US citizen. I grew up here, went to school here and work here. They also asked her how we met and it was through a marriage buearu that my aunt took us to. I talked to her and we decided we were fit for each other after spending a day together. She told them this as well... I am 27 and she is 21. No other marriages no relationship. It was this african american lady whom I read about on this forum who rejected her. She didn't even bother going through pics and stuff.

Is the marriage bureau a normal way for couples to meet in Pakistan? Did you identify the marriage bureau on line 19 of the I-129F?

Just wondering if that was the issue (IMBRA) that the CO used. Or if the bureau has a bad history with the embassy.

What proof of relationship did you provide with the petition? If you gave very little evidence of the development of the relationship that could also be what raised doubts.

Do not submit videos, they are not accepted.

No need for 100's of photos. Several photos of the wedding, along with photos taken at other times will suffice. Tonnage does not make it stronger.

Affidavits from people that have interacted with the both of you together are better. And no need for lots of those.

It's a very typical thing in Pakistan. It's no different then match.com, eharmony.com or a local meetup to date around. I know too many Pakistani's that have done it that way. They basically recommend good families and filter it out with what you are looking for...

For example :

Education level

Income

Looks

Profession

Divorced

I don't recall the petition requesting proof of pictures or anything? My wife did have pictures of two different receptions which weren't even looked at. I have gathered Skype logs, SMS logs, phone logs, money sent, gifts sent, email logs, affadavits from 5-6 different people across USA who have visited my wife or myself and seen her through video chat or talked to her over phone. I will send a few pictures like you said and keep it at a minimum.

I figured as much. Just trying to get a sense of what they didn't like.

The petition instructions are not specific. They don't even give good examples of what would be considered good evidence to present. That's where fellow VJ members going through the same embassy can really be helpful.

Typically affidavits from people that have not been in the same room with you and your wife are pretty much worthless. People who have interacted with the both of you together are much better. Though affidavits in general are typically seen as lower tier evidence.

What you want to do (as best you can) is present an overall view of how the relationship developed from first contact to present day. Email, online chat, phone records, in person meetings, important events (wedding!), time with family members, etc. Tell the "love story" without too much mushy stuff.

As much as I hate to say this Facebook did do one thing right, created a method to tell a story of someones life ! I'm talking about the time line option, that might be one of the best ways to portray the development of your relationship to someone you do not know.

Also writing a simple letter addressing your concerns and providing additional information is one of the best things to do, specially when dealing with a gov. Agency. It becomes a part of documentation! But do not do not send too much info it becomes overkill.

I know for non immigrant visas you never get the same CO if you go for an interview again after a denial, so I am sure that it is the same procedure for immigrant visas. Unfortunately at Islamabad, the problem isn't just that CO, there are a few who are the same/worse than her. Good luck, I hope that emailing that pakistani will help, but it seems suspicious to me and I would definitely think about it again before sending important documents to a pakistani worker. Even the embassy is not free of scam-running pakistanis...

I would write up a timeline of the relationship from when you met until now. Highlighting important dates , and then send evidence that follows the timeline. In some consulates the rejection would have been lack of bonefide relationship meaning that you didn't give them enough proof up front to see that your relationship is valid and not for immigration benefits only. Try to get the petition reviewed while it is still there, act quickly , call and ask to speak to the senior supervisor and ask them to review it personally ( after you have sent the timeline/proofs )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Hold up back up is it me or did anyone catch this.

OP you said the embassy said she is not 18. And your lawyer said to refile when she is 18.

So that's why its un-petitionable. Or did I miss something?
