Automated Voice Recording at NVC?

Hello all!

Firstly, thank you for all of the advice so far. This is my first post, as I've been able to find all of the answers to my questions somewhere on this site. Amazing!

Anyway, now I'm stumped--although by a simple question. I seem to NOT be able to access the AVR (Automated Voice Recording) at the NVC, even though the NVC lists it as available 24-hours a day? We got our NOA2 (77 days!!!)--and the NVC says that they've received our paperwork--but now we are waiting for the case number.

I've been calling from New Zealand, and it would be super easy to call post-midnight US-time to find out if its been assigned...then call to speak to a person and get the number. Its harder to call during their business hours because I'm a ski instructor--not great phone call opportunities when teaching lessons on the mountain!

Am I a dolt and am missing the number for the AVR? Or have they stopped doing it? Right now it is closed, and if I listen to the whole message it just hangs up on me. When I call during business hours I just have to wait.

Other then getting up earlier in the AM (which is fine), any other advice? And how often should I be calling? The nice gentleman who I spoke to told me to call "in a week." I figured I'd call Monday/Wednesday/Friday until I get a number????

Thanks for all of your help! And here's a dancing smiley just because I just discovered them:

The AVR is dead, sorry.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes the AVR is dead stopped earlier this year. Usually fro case received at NVC to case# is 10 to 20 days.

I am on phone so don't know if u r a K1 or spousal visa.

But all of us call daily. I got mu case# 17 days after being received at NVC some sooner. So all u can do is call and wait on hold. I would suggest since you are long distance to call first thing in mornings they open 7am EDT and close midnight EDT.
