Haiti Interview Question

Haiti filers,

Does the Haiti embassy require another letter of intent (besides the original one filed with the I-129F)? I'm getting ready to send some information to my fiance for packet 3 and I wasn't sure if I needed to send an updated letter of intent. Also, should I send him more evidence of a relationship to send with packet 3 or can I wait to take it to the interview.

Thanks for your help!

you need to send another one to reaffirm your intent to marry him in 90days. in other words, you are still willing and able to marry him

you will need to send new evidence with packet 3 because the messenger service will ask for them. send everything for packet3, just the passport and the interview letter day of the interview

N/A

i'm going through the same thing. we're still waiting to receive packet three via email. for some reason, i had in my head that i could bring everything to haiti and submit it the day of my fiance's interview. but it looks like it needs to be sent beforehand. yikes. guess i'll have to look into sending the letter of intent, chat logs, I-134 and supporting docs via DHL. has anyone else sent things vis DHL? is there another option?

That's what I thought but I just wanted to be sure. I just got our case # from the NVC yesterday, so I wanted to get everything I need to send him together and get it to him as soon as possible.

Another question...does he need to get his birth certificate translated into English? If so, where can he do that?

Thank you! I appreciate your help :)

Did you call the embassy or DOS to make sure they received your case? When I talked to the NVC yesterday, they told me they would forward our case to Haiti in 2-4 weeks. I figured in 2 weeks I would call DOS to see if it was sent.

Yep. NVC told me they sent it on August 7, but when I emailed the embassy a few days letter to request packet 3 via email, they said they haven't received it yet and to check back this week. So I called the DOS yesterday to confirm the embassy received it (couldn't get through to the embassy in PauP) and they confirmed that the embassy received it. But the woman explained that what the embassy has received is an electronic copy, and they are waiting on the hard copy before they issue packet 3. I didn't realize that...I learn something new everyday.

How are you going to send your fiancé the required info for packet 3?

Well, he actually lives in the Dominican Republic. Once he gets packet 3 from the embassy and everything from me he's going to Haiti for his medical exam and to get his birth certificate. I've had to send him things before (unrelated to the visa) and I just sent it through USPS because it's cheaper than UPS, DHL and Fedex. I didn't have any trouble and it only took a week to get there. So I'll probably do that again to save money. This process is so expensive!
