How exactly were you presented as a sponsor. Does it say you are a family friend, boyfriend fiance? Ask her what she was asked and what she said.

How old are you and her? I mean a young college student yourself with $18000 in the banl I would think raises red flags.

I think they may have guessed you are a couple and her mission is just to get here and stay. You said yourself you would marry her.

You need to find out exactly what was asked and answered.

Canadian_wife good observation. WOW!

No one here is pregnant. Its just a screen name I chose. Sorry for the confusion. I was presented as the BoyFriend when it comes to the sponsorship. We are both 27 years old.

About the marriage thing, I just kept it in my mind. I don't WANT to do that NOW, but I considered it just because everything else seemed so difficult.

She said she will talk to a lawyer. I'm not sure what that will do, but if I find anything, I will give you updates.

Thanks again for all of the replies.

Well that explains the denial. You the boyfriend as a sponsor. Ummm they probably figure she may or may not go to school her miSsion is to get married.

I guarantee you the lawyer will suggest. For you two to get married immediately and file AOS.

Please report back what lawyer says.

I'm not sure if she did. I have to ask her. Her semester was supposed to start on October 1st.

It isn't for a BA or MA, she was trying to go to ART school because she's more interested in ART than in studying English at an ESL school

well, that answers that...she is not a serious student, instead taking a vocational course, with the likely purpose being to remain in the US after getting married to you.

The lawyer will first suggest that a check be written to him/her....then he/she will tell you to marry ....but we told you that for free!

for sure , she will be denied. if your were the CO, and you have somebody that's not even a relative and he will support you financially , it's obvious that she will not come back. the officer could also tested your GF about the relation. she can reapply but she needs to think about an answer that will overcome the first interview, because all her answers were recorded. when it comes to the non immigrant visa , it's all about the intent, because the paper work is mandatory to apply. You mentioned that you think to marry your GF to get her to the States, how you think the CO will look at her visa application when he/she sees a young girl and her boyfriend will support her financially! I am pretty positive if she applied and she showed that she will support herself , she would be approved especially it's easy for the Japanese to get the visa
