HELP! Should I postpone my interview? I want to visit without activating my K-1 Visa!

My daughter had her interview the end of June and her passport with Visa arrived 10 days later. We found Montreal very quick

If you're not wanting to POE until December, you may want to consider getting an enhanced driver's license. You'll have to weigh whether it's worth the cost for only a few months.

When we realized, back in Feb, that the visa was pasted right into the passport, my daughter applied for the enhanced driver's license and started crossing with it right away. She isn't going to POE until October and didn't want any hassles when border agents saw the visa in her passport. She crosses over at least 2x a month and has had no hassles whatsoever. She does make sure though that she has a letter from her employer saying when she's expected back to work, etc....

She was interested in the turnaround time for Montreal to insert the visa after you send it in from a deferral. i.e. not leaving the passport with them after an interview. :)

Oops, sorry.......... my quoted response above was more in response to others saying their experience with Montreal was slow.

I'm currently in the process of booking my medical appointment and my interview and I'm so glad that I didn't book yet. In my head I had planned to get my K-1 next month and then not activate it until early next year after Christmas. However, after reading this forum and learning that they stick pressure-sensitive adhesive K-1 Visa INSIDE my Passport, I realized that the border official would see it every time I go into the US.

We have a few trips planned between now and the end of the year to see each other and I want to spend Christmas with my family in Canada. I have 3 more planned trips to the US before the year is over (plane tickets booked and paid for - we love planning things in advance! ) Given my situation and my upcoming trips, should I delay my Visa interview until after all of my planned trips or will I be able to visit the US without activating my Visa? I have read the forums and understand that there is no guarantee

the rest of my response (quoted below) was directed to what I thought her actual question was and what other option she'd have instead of deferring her medical and interview.

I understood her question to be if she'd have trouble crossing with her passport with her visa in it.
