I don't have a definitive answer but....I can only assume that if you test positive for TB they won't let you into the country.....you're suppose to be quarantined until it's under control. I know a woman in my area tested positive for TB recently and she refused to get medical attention for it -- the state made her stay in her house until she <finally> agreed to get help.

Yes you can have a positive skin test and a normal chest x-ray. The chest x-ray will show there is not TB present.

This happened where I worked when we were registering undergraduate students into a summer internship program and if they had a positive TB skin test they had to do a chest x-ray. It happens to some people.

I am in the country already. I had a positive skin reaction and my chest xray is normal (No TB).

I had a positive skin test and a normal X-ray,the Doc doing the test told me that it was probably due the fact that i had a BCG shot when i was younger.Glad that i found this out cause now for any employment i will just have the chest x-ray done as the skin test will always come back postive

Right many vaccinations done in Asia and in Latin America cause the TB skin test to be positive. Here is another thing too, if you have had a TB skin test once--then all subsequent TB skin test will be positive.

They tested my wife with chest X-ray and Sputum (phlegm) test--which were both negative. My wife also had the BCG shot when she was young. The positive TB skin test does not mean you have TB. And in fact if you have TB and then take medications to cure the TB infection you will always have a positive TB skin test.
