Hallo Everybody :)

my name is Gian Paolo Costantini and I'm italian.

I really hope you can help me with my questions and doubts:

Can I ask for a "O-1B" visa having for documents the recommandation letters of my US friends, which are musicians with academic degrees and music teachers, that know me pretty well, have listened to my music, and can testify that I'm actually a good musician, that I have composed music and performed it for a long time, even if I don't have any musical diploma or academic degree?

For example I signed record contract too with a record label once, and I still have a copy of that and the copies of the two albums me and my band produced.

And also, to add photos, videos and audio documents can be helpful too?

Is it licit for me to give my resumes around while I'm in the US with an ESTA (VWP), or give a job interview?

Do you think I should try to apply to this Visa from Italy but with the help of a US lawyer?

Thank you so so much

Best Regards

Gian Paolo

I did Google your name but came up with nothing?

Probably a link to Apple Store or whatever would help.

Have you discussed this with your Management Company/Agent?

Why do you NEED to go to the US?

It doesn't seem like you have a recording contract there or shows/concerts set up

Plus, letters from friends are pretty much worthless in my opinion. Can you get letters from your management agency in the US

Good luck

Letters from friends are pretty useless unless your friends are concert promoters/ own concert venues and can book you for performances.

I know someone who is on an O-1 visa, and his music/talent is pretty average (if that). So, there is hope. I don't know how he got it, but I was a bit shocked (I fall into the category of people who are giving you recommendations).

I think the best bet is to contact a lawyer who is familiar with what they are looking for and go from there. I don't think a single record contract will go far, though. It really depends on the label and the circumstances. Best of luck.
