As for GM, who cares? If they can't compete, they can flow rid down the shitter with the other American cars.

The US government is never gonna see the money they pumped into this pit, so might as well cut your losses and don't dump any more in.

I'd say several million people directly care, their employees and those of their many suppliers around the globe.

nah. gm, ford, dodge will always be around. there are too many on the road. someone 'nissan, toyota, subaru, or a group of investors.' would buy the brand just for the replacement parts business.

 There is plenty of aftermarket stuff out there, some of it is way better that the original, some of it is #######, most is about par with genuine GM, Mopar, etc.

I was actually referring to the companies that supply GM with parts and components to build their new vehicles, not replacement or aftermarket parts.

Most of those of are in places like Mexico and ROC. It is getting hard to find suspension parts and bearings that are not made in China.

Do you live in Germany? If you live in the US, where are you gonna drive 200MPH? Or 100 for that matter? In CT, you can be arrested for reckless driving going over 85.:P

There are all kinds of local tracks and events that allow you to run street class timed events.

Once you get west of the Rockies, there are long stretches where you can open up for hours. I-5 in California's Central Valley, some days if you try to drive under 80mph, even the big rigs will blow you off the road when they pass you at 90+ mph. That don't mean you won't get nailed for speeding, but people still drive with both feet firmly planted on the floor board. Nevada has some parts where you can almost go all day without seeing another car.

maybe you should slow down on your way to get a timmy's? :hehe:

50 miles away from the nearest Tim Horton's when it happened, some inconsiderate oaf in a massive log hauler decided to cross the center line. Probably drives a sillyrado when he's not trying to kill people.tongue_ss.gif

What most people don't realize is that TOY-ota and the like assemble cars in the US. All engineering and other things are done overseas. The tax revenue from those activities and the various industries that are required to produce the final product fill the coffers of Japan.

Plus we have I-95 on the East Coast.

And I-16 that runs to the coast here in GA. If you blow by the Ga State Patrol at 220MPH he will never catch you.

Assembled in the US by US workers, with a huge number of parts from US suppliers, unlike most of the ####### you have in and around your home...made in China.

Are either of them still in business? I know there are still some of the older dealerships around before Herb Chamber and Ernie Boch bought everyone out.

Both are still Ford dealerships, but under different names, one was Gibbs Ford, now York Ford and the other was Wellington Circle Ford, now Sentry Ford. I can't stand Ernie Boch Jr.

But he's got a pretty good band with some top notch musicians. Two original members of the band Boston, Barry Goudreau on guitar and Sib Hashian on drums. And Michael "Tunes" Antunes on the sax, from John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band. These three guys are outstanding musicians.

Not a very good video, but it gives you an idea of the talent.
