So we received our text/email notifications that our case had been approved yesterday and is being forwarded to the NVC. What I was wondering is will I be notified when they have received our case? Or will I just have to wait till I begin calling them up for our case number to find that out? Also what is the current/average processing time there before the case is forwarded to the embassy?

Would appreciate any responses

Thanks :star:

Congratulations on your approval kicking.gifkicking.gif........ you have to keep calling NVC for your case number and also keep calling to know when the send it off to the embassy....... it takes about a week or so to process at NVC...........

GOOD LUCK good.gifgood.gif

The NVC stage can take anywhere from a week to a month, and they don't really send out a notification.

I'm the petitioner and I received a letter from the NVC after my guy had already received the packet 3 letter so it was pretty much useless. To speed things up, call NVC in about a week to get your LND case number. If they don't have your approved case yet, they might tell you to call back in 15 business days (I waited about 5 when they told me that and was able to get the number). Once they have your approved peitition, they can also tell you when they'll be sending your file to the embassy.

Once you have the LND case number and an idea of when your packet is being sent out, you can book your medical exam.

Congratulations.

You will receive notification when the case is sent to the NVC however it's not uncommon for that letter t be very slow so it's likely your case will be on it's way or at the embassy by the time you receive the letter.

Here is what most people do.

About a week after approval, you or the beneficiary can call the National Visa Center on 603-334-0700

You will speak to an advisor who will ask for your WAC notice number, your date of birth, your partners date of birth and names. Once you give this information they will be able to tell you if your case has been received, if an LND number has been given, and if the case has been forwarded to the US embassy in London.

If they ask for the dates of birth of you and your fiancé it's usually safe to assume that they have your case. If they just ask for the case number and not the date of birth then they probably do not have your case.

They will almost always advise that it takes 15 days to reach the NVC. Some say 5, others say 20. Most people if not all, will call daily.

Once your case has been forwarded to the US embassy in London, you will need to call the Department of state on 202-663-1225 and provide your LND number, dates of birth again etc to see if the case has been received by them.

This number will also tell you if they have sent and received packet three, and packet four as well as a scheduled interview date.

They will also tell you if your visa has been issued after you have been approved at interview.

When asking questions about the process, please ensure that you do it in the UK forum from now on. Things become VERY specific to the individual country once you receive NOA2. Other countries processes are almost always different so do not necessarily follow the advice of anyone other than a UK filer (obviously there are some exceptions to this however this is the general advice given)

Good luck! Things move much quicker here. Please read the guides and make sure to read the NOA2 to Interview thread Located Here

Is it necessary to call them? I mean can we just wait for letter which will have NVC# on?

If you want things to move a lot quicker (which i'm sure you do) then i'd make the call :) and from what I've read, interviews seem to be scheduled about a month after they have received all the DS forms including your notice of readiness

Not necessary to call them at all. You just will have to wait for the letters. Most people like me did it so we could send things off as soon as possible rather than wait. You may do it however you want, but it can give you a little peace of mind if you so desire.

London gives interview dates reasonably quickly once they receive your medical data, and it's usually within a month of the medical.

Were you at Vermont? It's just come too soon, rushing was the last thing we thought we would have to do and that's now what we have to do! 66 days is ridiculous! Barely 2 months - arghhhhh :D are you one of Kate's friends? When did you get approved? X

Yes, you are very lucky to have yours approved in only 66 days! Congrats btw :) and well about slowing things down.. just don't send off your DS 2001 Notice of Readiness form to the embassy until you are ready and have everything you need in your hands :star:

Thanks for advice jules. Not looked at that form yet. I'm just in middle of typing up supplementary sheets for employment, countries visited and entries into the USA! The forms are not as bad as I thought just practising filling them in. What are you getting planned, you were approved yesterday too? :D X
