Ok. A professional couple can easily exceed that threshold. $150k each and you're there.

I don't diagree. Thresholds are tricky. The couple you decribe is probably easy to find in NYC. Not so much in Mobile, AL. And then that couple would be doing alright in NYC while they would do extremely well in Mobile, AL. Guess what I'm saying is that $250K family income is not the same all over the country. In some places it's awesome, in others it's okay and in some places it's what you need just to live decently.

The economy was in free fall when Obama came into office. Now it is growing - not as fast as we'd like but as long as everyone in de-leveraging mode rather than consuming, that's what we'll have. On the other hand, companies have increased productivity and are making record profits. All they need to ramp up hiring is demand. But austerity doesn't produce demand, it stifles demand. Hence no hiring...

Delusional. Absolutely delusional.

What specifically do you disagree with? That productivity has risen? That's a fact. That companies make record profits? That's a fact, too. That households are still de-leveraging? Another easy to verify fact. Or that demand isn't what it needs to be for businesses to hire? That's pretty easy to verify as well. Or do you disagree that austerity stifles demand? That would be interesting if you did.

Come on, tell us what it is that you disagree with here.

Sorry. I can't in good conscious contribute to this pathological condition that seems to afflict so many Obamanites.

What a clever way of saying "I don't want to answer your questions"

I disagree with this part:

All they need to ramp up hiring is demand.

Apple is a good counter-example. There's an incredible demand for Apple products - both globally and domestically - yet, Apple is hoarding hundreds of billions of dollars in cash reserves. Why?

Also this:

But austerity doesn't produce demand, it stifles demand. Hence no hiring...

We haven't had any austerity measures - quite the opposite, QE after QE after stimulus.

Apple has demand and Apple is hiring. Where there is demand, there will be jobs. The huge profits Apple is raking in and hoarding isn't creating any jobs. The consumer demand for Apple products is.

We haven't had any austerity measures - quite the opposite, QE after QE after stimulus.

Not yet. And you'll have noticed that we've also not yet fallen back into a recession as nations that went down the austerity path have. Give it a few more months and there's a good chance that austerity will strike here and then you'll see how the current job creation that's been going on for the last 2+ years - however slow it may have been - turns into job destruction. Austerity does that every time.

There's no chance of that, unfortunately. We'll be at $20 trillion in 2016, $25 trillion in 2020, and likely cease to exist sometime between 2020 and 2030.

On second thought, I think you're right. Even if the GOP captures both houses of Congress and the White House, they're not going to stand for massive job losses at the start of the new Republican administration. They'll re-discover their love for Keynes in no time flat. Mitt has actually already said that he won't stand for any spending cuts in 2013. Corporate America will want to see return on their investment. It'll all be business a fcuking usual.

The biggest liars are talking about Romney's lies about his taxes. Why don't Obama, Pelosi & the rest show their wealth first? Why don't these Leftists talk about issues that really matter - ECONOMY, UNEMPLOYMENT, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, BUDGET etc etc etc..... Because they don't have anything to show or say except try and divert people's attention from these topics. FOOLS take the bait too.

Obama and Biden each have 12 years worth of tax returns out there. And no, these are not fakes.

Nancy and the rest isn't running for a job in the White House. Nobody cares about Boehner's or Cantor's tax returns either. Nice try at deflection, though.

As your screen name indicates. Good and fitting choice indeed!

It's just a Maddow hit piece with her normal partisan BS. All this was settled a decade ago when the Democrats filed a complaint saying that Romney was a Utah resident and could not run for Governor of Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Ballot Law Commission investigated it and concluded as a matter of law that any mistake was inadvertant, and much of it on the part of Utah, and the tax accounting firm used by Romney.

This is the kind of BS that Mrs Romney was talking about, much ado about nothing. It also highlights why he should not release anything. Read the entire report here and draw your own conclusion.

Mass Ballot Law Commission Report on Romney

Romney amended his tax filings retroactively - he listed Utah as his primary residence for the years in question to cut his tax liability to the state of Utah. When it became necessary to pay up, he did. But he's on record denying that he listed Utah as his primary residence and that is demonstrably a statement he made that he knew was wrong. That's the definition of lie. He lied about his taxes then and he's lying about his taxes now. He also wasn't shy back when he ran for governor to pull the exact same gig on his opponent's husband that Harry is pulling on him now. Then he thought it was fair game, now he's crying foul. What a stand up guy!
