Tears of Joy from a great ordeal in the US Embassy

I could never expect :o such ordeal I have been through while having my Interview this day. To explain with my case, in one of my DS Forms Ive written there the info that 7 years ago I had worked in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.I was really honest :innocent: of letting them know about my work experience before. After such work experience from Dubai, I've pursued this Nursing degree that let me now be that licensed Nurse here in Philippines and practice my field of work in my city in Digos.

Now, the ordeal started with the Filipino Pre-screener who had asked me questions for about 15 minutes. He had such comment when seeing my documents and the knowing that I let myself have a relationship over the net at my age that I never have met a Filipino guy to have relationship with which he found unbelievable. I answered back that I have people around me from high school before, from my working place that are all married and that I don't have the time to mingle and know someone special for I've got that hectic and crazy schedule as a Nurse . Then he commented surprisingly that Men would really find me unreachable or astounding :star: from the things he had read on my forms. I then observed him suddenly searching something on the documents there in front of him and then unexpectedly he asked me to submit to him a police clearance from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.I was at a loss for I had really thought that I don't need to provide anything since I already had provided them the NBI Clearance and that I'm no longer working in that Arabic place and it was 7 years ago. I felt like crying for I'm helpless, not knowing what I will do in order to get that Police clearance in that place.I've told this Filipino Pre-screener that my Fiance did a research from the USCIS on my case with my work experience and my Robert had told me never to worry since Dubai is a place that one doesn't need to provide a Police Clearance when having an Interview in USEM.He (Filipino Pre screener)seemed to be closed ears for my answer & really requires me to submit the clearance and said they will still confirm and check it from the Dubai Police Authorities. And so, I was instructed to take my seat :clock: and wait for my number to appear from the flashing board. I was called in to the American Consulate Officer's counter. I've met and was asked with a lot of questions by this pretty white woman of around 30's. She's warm & friendly that let me have then regain my composure and confidence and then again this busy scanning and searching of somethings bothered me. For the second time, I was asked by the American Consulate this police clearance and she told me that my Application is on Hold. I felt sooo disappointed, controlling my tears to fall and return back to my seat. For the second time, I again approached the Consul's counter and clarify things about this clearance trying to absorb everything...I felt sooo hopeless, :help: don't know what to do felt so depressed :( for my high expectation to be with my Fiancee would take long time to wait...can't bear thinking of my Fiance's unhappiness upon learning then the sad news for a pending or on hold Visa Application. I was again waiting for my number or name to be called and its now placed on the hands of the Releasing Officer, the last counter to deal with. And then this good guy gave this hope for me, he called out my Name.He have this disapproving  face of looking at something written on my form . He somehow let his comrade of the other counter know about it and share a comment about it.I've overheard him instructing to a woman at his back to do a checking on my case and about Dubai. He instructed me to take again my seat.I was called in counter 61, the American Consul's counter and said this to me, " We did such research about your case and have known from Dubai Police Authority that there's no need anymore with the Police Clearance especially when you are not there working presently".Your Visa is Approved" , with teary eyes, I thanked the consul and she had felt my worries during the Interview's Police clearance requirement and smiled at me with the wonderful News. It was a great Miracle!!! It felt that a very heavy burden had been lifted off my shoulders and the thorn in my heart just gone completely, making me breath!!!! At the last time, I was asked to approach the releasing counter with that wonderful man  who had been my Angel... I wanted to give him a great hug of thankfulness for making it rewarding for me, hoping that I could pay him with his goodness & show him my thankfulness :dancing: ... With sincerity and happiness I let him know the appreciation I have on him for making my day so blessed because of Helping me have my Visa be approved... I thanked him so much for 3 times....

Congrats! Though I'm sad that you have to go through that ordeal... I also worked in Dubai as a nurse for 3 years & wasn't able to secure a Police Certificate before I resigned. Though I knew from reading that Police Certificates for UAE can be requested to be waived (because you can only secure one if you are presently living in UAE or Dubai), I submitted a notarized Affidavit that I cannot provide one stating the reasons. I submitted this to NVC together with my IV documents & I saw that NVC noted down in my Appointment letter that it is unobtainable and is therefore waived...so I didn't go through the ordeal of being questioned about that. My visa was approved without questions =)
