wrong passport # on bpi receipt

Hi, and thanks for the momentous help this site has been for our journey, using other's similar experience and vast knowledge to help us through our questions..and find they have no need to be asked because they've been answered before

My fiancee just went to bpi and paid the interview fee, but in her haste to return (she works 2nd shift, and was on break) she didn't notice the passport # was wrong by one letter till she had returned. We found a similar problem on the forum and most said the receipt really doesn't matter, just so long as the receipt is typed exactly how it appears. It also seemed like the prev post said not to contact the embassy about it, but is it fine to just leave it like this?

She also was surprised when the lady said the case number was unnecessary, and wanted to know if this was normal.

Thanks for all your help

Good luck in scheduling your interview. How can you prove that you paid the visa application fee. The payment receipt from BPI must match the passport number. You need to call the embassy and tell them about the problem. This happened to us also and BPI would not fix the receipt.

Thank you so much for your reply. Just like what you said, BPI wouldn't fix it. I called the BPI branch and went back there. The teller said that they have called the embassy and that there won't be a problem. Just enter the receipt number (incorrect passport number) as what's written on the receipt to schedule for the interview. If it requires a matching passport number and receipt number, then, that's going to be a problem :crying: How did you fix the problem? Did the embassy give you specific instructions? Sadly, we cannot call the embassy now, not until Wednesday (since it will be holiday on Mon and Tues) :( Thanks in advance :)

Yes....I called the embassy US number many times...it took us about 30 days to finally get the problem corrected. I hope it won't take that long for you.

Maybe you can try to use the different passport numbers to schedule your appointment....I'm not sure if that will work or not, but no harm in trying.

Oh my 30 days! :crying: I truly hope that it won't take that long to get it fixed. We will try to schedule our appointment first. Then, if it doesn't work, perhaps, the passport and receipt number should match or the system hasn't been updated yet (not sure). I am hoping for the latter. Thank you so much for your replies. :)

yikes the embassy used your passport# as a receipt#....it's BPI mistakes they need to re-do it again!!

goodluck

The passport number must be on the BPI receipt. But BPI recorded the passport number incorrectly. And believe me from personal experience BPI will NOT fix the problem.

more yikes i guess lol :bonk:

Maybe consider talking to the brand manager of the bank...they should re-trained their employees to avoid this kind of mistakes if they don't even care to do something

That is just a big waste of time....BPI will NOT fix the problem. The way we had to fix it was to scan the passport and the receipt and then email them to the embassy. The entire process took about 30 days to complete.

Do NOT worry about the BPI receipt number not matching the passport number. When you go online to schedule just type the receipt number as it appears on the receipt. PERIOD!

You don't need to contact the embassy or any other BS....

I have tried setting the date with the receipt number, and it says there's still no record. Does this 4-24 hours span require the embassy to be open? My fiancee tells me they are not open on the weekend, and apparently won't be open mon or tues either (i think from a holiday), so does this mean that we have to wait till the embassy is open again for the registration to go thru, or is this an automated process regardless of the embassy being open?

yaaay, guess it was due to the holiday that it wouldn't go through, since i just tried and we now have our date set for oct 22 (just 2 days before my bday), so won't that be about the nicest bday gift i could ask for, confirmation that my luv can come over here ;p Wow, nearly 2 months from now, and the earliest we could have done was the 16th. Guess they're filling up pretty fast. As always, thanks for all the helpful replies.

Glad all is handled. Have been on the road for a few days so wasn't able to reply to your earlier question.
