Ok, so as the title says we need some advice per the re-establishing domicile requirement, My fiancee is a US citizen who moved to the UK when she was 16, has lived and worked here for 10 years (five of which we have been together). We are now applying for a K-1 to get married in the US mainly because she wants her family to be at the wedding.

We are not really sure how we can prove we intend to live in in the US as she cant really get a job offer before we move to the US, I have tried to apply for jobs but without a greencard nobody will even entertain me! We have handed in notice on or rented flat which we can show, she is also going to register to vote in FL, get a library card, and we are going to get a letter from her parents to say we intend to initially live with them whist we get ourselves sorted out.

Se no longer has a bank account in the US and don't think she can open one from the UK? I may be wrong? But she does have US Bonds in her name? would these be any use of proof?

Has anybody got any other experience of this whilst applying for the K-1 rather than DCF?

They all sound like positive steps to proving it. You could show evidence of booking things for the wedding in the US too. Get some loyalty cards or something mailed to her parents address.

Look in the I-864 FAQ link in my signature below for information re: establishing domicile.

She can always take a trip to the US to take care of things. Plenty of planes leaving every day.

FWIW: Why can't the family travel to the UK for a wedding? Or get legally married in the UK and then hold a big celebration in the US where you stand up front and exchange vows, etc.? Then you can file for a spouse visa and have the ability to work upon US entry instead of the several months that it will take when entering on a K1?
