Hi guys,

my interview was 3 days ago and it went well. I was told that everything looked fine but they needed to double check if I overstayed in the US. I was unable to provide them with the documents they needed to prove that I didn't so they said they will check. How long does this usually take? And if it's blank, does that mean I cannot send them files that might help them determine that I didn't overstay?

BTW they took my passport at the end of the interview as well. Is that a good sign?

I had a similar situation. It took about 3 weeks for them to send the passport back to me, and they didn't even say a word about it... I had to email the Embassy and ask. But you know how these guys can be, it could take less time as well.

It's a good sign that they kept your passport. good.gif

Thank you for the speedy reply. I really hope it takes less than a month. As if 5-6 months of waiting isn't enough! I was afraid that they would send it back to USCIS. Do you know how they check this?

They said that I can confirm my address at the 2go counter but I already filled out the 2go paperwork online beforehand.

So I called DOS and they mentioned that my case is still with the embassy. It looks like they will not be forwarding the case back to USCIS. I am still a bit confused as to why I was pretty much given a blank 221g form. Nothing was ticked/marked. I didn't get a control number either. Apparently, I was the 36th person that day to have been issued a 221g white form. I have no idea what to do/expect.
