My fiance and I will be getting married at the end of this year. Once I get needed documents we'll start his visa process. Aside from getting the certified marriage certficate and taking pictures, what are some things you wish you'd done with your spouse while you were in their country to add to proof of bonafide marriage?

First, in this context, there's no such thing as "proof". Think "evidence". I would do some things with family and take photos of the couple with family and friends, that are not staged the way wedding photos would be. Start now documenting how and how frequently you communicate.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Take photos of HAPPY in-laws... hugging you and all, get a sense of "being" a part of the family.

Take cute candid shots of events of ANY kind...

Laughter and tears captured on camera...

Don't only send "POSED" photos as it looks un-natural and staged.

:-)

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the ideas. Yes, we know why we were denied and have already consulted with an attorney. We already have almost 2 years worth of chats and phone records. He lives in South Africa his family lives in Nigeria. Hopefully, I'll get to Nigeria before I get to South Africa to take pictures with the family.

Well face time is the #1 thing that will help everything else. Pics are one thing but time together is paramount.

Establishing a joint bank account. My name was added to his account, but the bank in his country has yet to issue the new checkbooks.

More pictures with his family and more pictures of us in his country. We didn't take many photos together in CAR. Most of our photos together are vacation shots.
