VSC vs CSC

Can someone please explain to me how it is determined which service center your application gets sent to? I realize that the process is never going to be 'fair', in terms of order of approval. VSC is working on Jan/Feb while CSC is on Apr/May. We all sent our applications to the same lockbox. They should have a way to be processed in a better order. Has transfer of applications ever been done from one service center to the other? Is it something you can request? It just doesn't seem right, when we weren't given a choice. Thanks for your feedback.

I think it's determined geographically.

Western states go to CSC and Eastern to VSC.

Not sure about the transfer personally.

Agree on the fairness thing tho. We are starting our application in jan having noticed how London VSC is taking after originally planning on waiting till august

You sent your I-129F petition to the Dallas Lockbox. From there it is either sent to California or Vermont. This is determined by the location of the US Citizen. You cannot choose.

If you live in: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. Your petition will be sent to the California Service Center

If you live in: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Your petition will be sent to the Vermont Service Center

The processing times at California is quicker right now. This time last year Vermont was quicker so it does change from time to time but Vermont has been slow for a while now. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it but keep busy and wait. All the best !

Last year at this time VSC wasn't quicker. You can google for so many complaints from people about VSC.

^ click the "Processing times link. Last year at this time they were producing about the same 130+ days. Vermont never goes that low and CSC has a high of 150ish days in the past 16 months while VSC is just below 200. The data shows clearly that Vermont is #### and obviously needs to make some changes or be replaced with different contractors.

CSC has obviously done something that has enabled them to drop to the bottom of the graph beyond recent recent production rates.

Actually.. yes it was. We were petitioning at the time and it got down to around 90 days at one point - CSC petitioners were complaining about the fact that CSC was slower. Regardless of that, you have no control over what is happening timewise... it is what it is - a waiting game.

Maybe if I withdraw our application, move to the west coast and apply again, we'd have a better chance of getting approved quicker. Seeing June applications approved from CSC is really frustating. I know I have a long wait. This process is just absurd!!

Hey we've just been approved (noa1 June 11th) and believe me it's just as frustrating for us - we envisioned at least 5 months to prepare (this is not something to rush after all). Getting it at 66 days is going to put a huge strain on us, financially and the burden of collecting overseas police checks on time.

You should move to the west coast anyway, you know it :)
