Hi Everyone,

Can anyone help me with the tentative Interview date? My file was recieved by NVC on 30th July and right now I am waiting for them to assign me a case number. I am ready with all the packets (AOS and DS-230) to be sent by priority mail and ready to pay the bills (AOS and DS-230) online as soon as they are generated. With everything ready from my side any idea what will be the tentative interview date?

USCIS:

12/06/2011 - Married

01/17/2012 - I-130 Sent

01/18/2012 - NOA1 Date

07/30/2012 - NOA2 Email Received (194 Days since NOA1)

NVC:

07/30/2012 - Case arrived at NVC building

08/20/2012 - Received case #, IIN, gave both e-mail addresses

08/20/2012 - E-mailed DS-3032 (used email template & also attached scanned copy)

08/27/2012 - AOS bill invoiced & PAID online

08/28/2012 - AOS bill appears as PAID

08/29/2012 - DS-3032 accepted

08/30/2012 - IV bill invoiced & PAID online

08/31/2012 - IV bill appears as PAID

08/31/2012 - AOS Package sent (via priority mail)

08/31/2012 - IV Package sent (via priority mail)

09/04/2012 - NVC received both packets (due to weekend & labor day holiday)

09/11/2012 - AOS/I-864 accepted

09/17/2012 - RFE for DS-230 ques 30

09/19/2012 - Mailed new DS-230 by overnight mail

09/21/2012 - New DS-230 delivered at NVC

10/01/2012 - IV Package accepted

10/01/2012 - Case Complete

10/02/2012 - Interview date assigned by email

Mumbai Consulate:

10/05/2012 - Medical Done (Got the report on same day)

11/07/2012 - Interview @ Mumbai Consulate (Result: APPROVED)

11/09/2012 - Passport Pick up

11/22/2012 - POE Atlanta

Generallly, 3/4 months after you get your CASE NUMBER, if everything goes smoothly. But, Interview date is determind by how busy is the Embassy/Consulate rather than by NVC itself. So, you might end up whole process really fast and smoothly @ NVC but if embassy/Consulate does not have interview slot, you will be on WAITING GAME.....

after looking at some timeline for mumbai india, if your case complete this month then you will have interview date for october or november.

my case just got complete on monday 13th, my husband interview will be at mumbai too. waiting for interview date now. i know my husband will have interview more likely in october or end of september.

Hi Everyone,

With everything ready from my side any idea what will be the tentative interview date?

With everything ready from your side, once NVC has assigned you a case number and your bills are generated and paid for, it should take less than two weeks for NVC to close your case. Based on when your case gets closed, there are two possibilities.

1. If your case is closed before the 15th of a month, you'll more than likely get an interview date for the following month.

2. If your case is closed after the 15th of a month, you won't get an interview date for the following month, but the month after that.

I've done a lot of research on this, and this seems to be the trend, at least with the Mumbai consulate. Meanwhile, I'd advice you to double check all your documents and also ask your spouse to draft the DS-3032 email and keep, so that he/she can email it once you receive the case number.

If you dont get his interview date by this week then I would say around November 5th -10th....

From the date you get your case number to your interview date, count 3 months. Assuming there is no hiccups in NVC documents processing delays or checklists issued for the case. August to January months are really busy for Mumbai Consulate for IR1/CR1 category interviews due to lot of NRI weddings about 7 to 12 months prior in the year.
