We had our wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse

With only 35 people in attendance. It was more of our USA Reception, the only costs we incurred were the hotel reservations, the minister, My Tux & reception all just under 1000.00 not including rings (Ako wore her own Kimono) the rings were over 4k

We will be having an official Traditional Japanese Wedding is Aoshima Japan this April.

Her parents will be paying for that wedding, my Family will be flying to Japan, and I will be paying for my Immediate families Airfare and Hotel reservations.

Our honeymoon was in 2005 in Okinawa Japan, it did not cost much as Ako's family has property there.

  • 2 years later...

Our budget was $10,000. I have really good taste  so I was freaking out that it won't be nearly enough.

Bosnia is a lot cheaper, so we actually ended up at 9,000 and we had 75 guests.

Off course, I am not counting the air fare...

I don't remember how much we actually spent but it was under a hundred dollars. We didn't have rings or wedding clothes and our friend married us for free in the chapel where DH used to work (that was free too because we did it right after Sunday service) and we only had three guests. Our only wedding expenses were the marriage licence, $20 for flowers from Walmart, $20 for a small cake, and we spent $30 or $40 on a 'wedding dinner' for two at Chillis. DH's family gave us a party a few months later as a wedding present...

I want us to renew our vows for our fifth anniversary and I'm thinking we can bring it home for under $1000. If not, we can't afford to do it!

We are still in the planning stages but so far its set at $8,500. I'm trying to figure a way to cut it down to $5K but I don't think it's going to happen. :(

I voted between $1000 - $5000. I'd say that we spent somewhere around $2000 on the wedding (mostly preparations), but that doesn't count the airfare or anything we spent in Brazil (and I flew down for the K1 interview). We were also REALLY lucky that our friends basically paid for the wedding itself.

We didn't set a budget but I'd say we spent about $10,000 for a destination wedding with 6 guests (not including airfares, accommodation or honeymoon)

We saved on some things (my dress was $700 off the rack designer, he only bought a $100 linen shirt and wore his own pants) and splurged on the others (wedding rings, flowers, honeymoon, etc). Oh and our parents paid for most of it anyway.. his paid for our airfares & everyone's accommodation, and the groom's dinner. Mine paid for the photographer and reception. We DIY'd too.. his dad married us, his mom made our cake.. the videographer was a canon on a tripod.

We spent what we could afford and had an awesome wedding :P

If the 10K does not include airfares, accomodations, honeymoon, cake, dress, photographer, reception, videographer.... I am curious to know what did cost you 1OK? rings and flowers? I am not trying to be smart ####, just curious... Man, I don't wanna imagine how lavish that wedding was then... I am jelaous :)

Anyway, best of luck to you!

I answered 5000-10000. That number is alot more than I am actually paying. My fiance and I will pay for Misc. costs like my dress, his tuxes, ceremony decorations (which will be simple), favours, reception accessories, our rings. My fiance and I are also paying the ceremony fees. The rest of the wedding will be split in half between both of our families. DJ, photography, reception rental and food.

we = what us, my parents and my inlaws spent for the wedding

that figure includes dress + groom's outfit, photographer, reception, wedding rings, flowers, invitations, groom's dinner, hair & makeup & nails. The things not included are airfares, accommodation and honeymoon

I don't think it was particularly extravagent.. I think we got a pretty good deal actually

Excluding airfare and jewellery but including wedding rings, videography, wedding attire (saree), paying for courtwork for the wedding, beauty parlour, reception and stuff like that-- it was around 3k. We had a small wedding, only 15 people and the reception was even smaller. We didn't have any budget, just however things came our way.

I got some jewellery from my husband, my dad, grandma and other relatives for our wedding other than the wedding rings (Indian custom :P )
