So I have my k1 visa which I received on 22nd of June and I will be moving to US this month.

Now I was wondering that for future (AOS) would I need a certified copy of Birth Certificate or an original birth certificate would do fine?

To be on the safe side, I would go ahead and get a certified copy as well as take your original. I found some threads relating to this same issue:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/147777-case-pending-at-nvc-issues-with-pakistani-birth-certificate/

I hope this is helpful. If it were me, I would go get an official certified copy so there were no questions and submit that with your AOS application.

Total elapsed time between filing I-129F to GC in hand 569 days or 1 Year, 6 months, 22 days.

I forgot to mention here (I know we chatted a bit) that it will be easier if you have that copy on hand now instead of needing it later and not being able to get it as quickly. I'm sure someone who has filed from Pakistan recently might see your thread and be able to provide that answer. :) Good luck friend!

If your birth certificate is in English or both then there really is no point in getting it translated and or certified if it is the original itself. However if it is in Urdu then yes get it translated and certified. Do not lose the birth certificate its requested multiple times for future adjustment of status.

Bro i already told u in a seperate msg that u dont need any cetified copy u just need a copy of orignal birth certificate which is issued in english. I have filed my AOS with a copy of NADRA birth certificate. Keep in mind that u sent orignal birth certificate to embassy before interview and they updated thier record with a scanned copy of your original birth certificate before ur visa interview. So at the time of filling of AOS a copy of birth certificate is sufficient.
