There is no point talking sense with you, it goes in one ear and out the other. Try and figure it out yourself.

There are plenty of ways to "disable" someone without killing them. A cop, of all people, knows that.

given the circumstances (of course you were there) ... and there are plenty of ways to "disable" a person ....

tell us all how it should have been done.

after all, you know there are plenty of ways to disarm someone ... and even a cop should know this too ...

Clearly you were there and know it wasn't possible. Give up. I don't have time for you.

Sure you are.

Your replies in this thread are comical.

Actually I am Einstein. I've owned and operated a private professional personal security firm over 25 years. We do both personal and corporate security in hotspots all over the world, such as Afghanistan, which includes cyber-security, not just "bodyguards". Our agents are highly trained in every aspect of security and the movies only wish they could do some of what we do. Even an agent on the ground would put you on your ####### so fast you wouldn't know what happened. They don't NEED a gun, but are well trained and highly armed at all times.

My remarks might be comical to you, but I can tell from yours that you have no clue when the escalation of force is really warranted. A trained agent would have neutralized the threat almost instantly and the thug would still be alive.....damaged, but alive.

You can tell all that simply from my calling you comical? Wow, you really are that good.

My apologies dude, when does your movie come out?

Granted, he prolly did, but a shot to the kneecap of a kicking assailant accomplishes the same goal. IMHO the cop was not facing imminent death in a public arena. He was facing a horrible beat down which required him to act responsibly, especially as a public servant. Double tapping center mass is not a responsible action in that type situation. HOWEVER it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I used to tjhink like that but not anymore. It's very hard to hit something like a kneecap even at close range with a pistol. A high powered rifle at a still target maybe.

I don't know if I'm a God like you when it comes to law enforcement but I will try to give my 2 cents about this topic. I'm a criminal justice major, and do plan on becoming a police officer. I can honestly say that if it was me in this situation, I would be shooting to protect my life, not really thinking about how I should maybe shoot him in the kneecaps. If you are ever getting beat down in the middle of the street by 2 people, please send us a video of how you diffused this situation. I would love to learn from a master!!

Where were all you hypocrites when George Zimmerman defended himself against an angry attacker that was on top of him beating him?

“At that point he’s defending his life — he’s on the ground, he’s about to lose consciousness from the people who are beating him and draws his weapon in defense of his life,” Camden said. “The officer responded accordingly.”

I wonder if this "expert" will testify in the Zimmerman case.

If you believe your life is truly being threatened and you need to react quickly and decisively in self-defense that would be the smart thing to do!

So when George Zimmerman did exactly that, he was wrong?

Why?

Cop or not when an armed person is attacked and being viciously beaten the use of deadly force is justified.

Even in Florida?

Oh well. Sounds like the thug deserved what he got.

Are you talking about the angry dad who'd just been told to take it easy by the man who killed his precious daughter or are you talking about cute and cuddly little Trayvon?

So whoever the guy was cop or no cop he had full right of self defense, which is what the guy did.

So, let me get this straight.... the right to self defense applies to off duty cops in Chicago but not civilians in Florida?

sorry if the hint made in jest that you were there went a little higher than you could grasp.

interesting that you still haven't told how it should have been done .... :clock:

You roll into the target and affect weapon, be it a knife or a gun. The assailant has already breached your distance safety perimeter, so now you want to get CLOSE. In a normal threat situation you maintain distance and spacial awareness, but when it has already reached your red zone you must close the distance. It is not very hard to shoot a kneecap when your gun is pressed against it. With the knife, which would be preferred in this instance, you roll into the target and start slicing until the attacker stops or bleeds out. When he does stop, then you regain distance.
