Michigan. How about you?

When did you get your NOA1? You're still lucky to have spent 3 months with him. I haven't seen my fiance since Apr. :/

Virginia. I got my NOA1 in early April.

Oh how long did you wait for your packet 3 after you got your NOA2? I heard mixed comments about that. Some said fast some said slow. I'm confused. I am thinking if it takes a long time I might go over to visit again.

That's not too bad, only 3 weeks. I have a friend who got hers after about 2 months!

I guess it depends on your luck?

From Singapore coz I wanna avoid that seminar. Lol. Pero maybe you should research more. I'm not sure but I think if you're a PR from another country, you can avoid the seminar. Or maybe mali lang ang basa ko. Nagemail ako sa kanila nde naman sila nagreply. :/

KyleAndrea,

I have an update on the CFO seminar. Regardless if you're exiting from Manila or somewhere else, you would still need to take the CFO seminar because of the ff reasons:

1. During Immigration (when exiting from Manila) - the immigration officer in NAIA will be looking for the CFO sticker on your passport

2. Renew Philippine Passport (or Amendment of passport with new surname) - the CFO certificate is required

I'm afraid there is no escape :(

And it gets worse, starting September 17, there will be no more seminar sessions in QC. All seminars will exclusively be at the CFO offices in Manila and Cebu. Only 12 slots are available/day. No reservations.

Hmm. But I don't plan to go back to Manila after I get my visa. The worrisome part is the passport. Do we need to have it amended right away after marriage? :/ Where did you get this info? I should just get on with it and save myself future hassle eh? :/

Have you gotten back your passport? Still haven't received packet 4. One month now by next week and I'll be in Manila then. :/

Hmm. Come to think of it. If I don't leave from Manila, how will I get my sticker from there when I'm having my interview here? Gets mo?

Ok. I just went to the CFO website. I don't think amendments to the passport are gonna be a problem if you are having it changed in the US. Since you are getting married there, you can't change your name yet until after you're already there.

But yes, since when you leave Manila, you will already have your k1 visa on your passport, they will really look for the sticker. Do I make sense? Lol. Basta ayoko magseminar. Lol.

I've sent the packet 3 back to embassy last week and received the letter indicating the interview date in 2 weeks! That is so fast. Fortunately i have went for my medical checkup and got my necessary documentations ready.

How was the interview and how long did it take? Was the officer strict and persistent? I am nervous about it right now since i got the interview in 2 weeks... :S

Don't be nervous..relax :) Here's what happened to my interview:

Reached the embassy at 9AM. Mobile phone and hand bag were left at the security counter. They only allowed me to bring my wallet and my documents.

I was the second applicant to be interviewed for an immigrant visa (you need to choose immigrant visa when you get your queue number). The guy who first interviewed me was the same guy who called me yesterday. He collected all the required documents, ds156 and ds156k forms and my passport photos. He said I might need to get a copy of my fiance's income tax return. He also asked me to write my fiance's name in the lower section of the DS-156K.

He asked basic questions like, how did you meet, how much is your fiance earning, what he does for a living, etc. Oh and since my fiance is also a Filipino, he asked how he became a US citizen. I was then asked to take a seat and was informed that the consular officer will call me for the actual interview. While waiting, my medical exam results came in. They gave me my chest xray in a huge brown envelope.

After waiting for more than an hour, my name was finally called. The consular officer asked me to verify some bio information and has asked me to sign the lower part of the DS-156K. He then took my fingerprints. A few more questions about my fiance and the relationship.

1. How do you communicate?

2. Has he visited you here in Singapore?

3. Have you been in the US before? He asked how many times I've been in the US.

4. What do you for a living?

5. Do you intend to work in the US?

After the interview, the officer informed me that he does not see any problem with my application. And because I have a lot of missing documents, he asked me to send these documents to the Aramex office (courier).

By the way, when the visa is issued, there is no need to collect it at the embassy. They will ask you to register an account at a particular website to have Aramex courier deliver the passport to you.

That's it!

Woohoo! Congrats!!

Thanks!!! Got your packet 4 already?

Did you get 221g and passport return since he requested for your missing documents?

What is a 221g?

He gave me a piece of paper with my name and case number and asked me to send my missing requirements plus my passport to the aramex courier, together with this paper.

Hi fleurg! Sorry for the late update. Have been very busy. We had our interview at the embassy this morning. My fiance came with me but he was asked to sit down. But there was a part where I had to call him to answer questions about his income. The questions were also smooth and merely just verifying the info already stated in the forms. I'm just really thankful to God for making everything go easy on us. How are you? When are you flying to US?
