wait to hear from us. Manila

My fiance went to the embassy interview and after everything was looking good they gave her a 221g (administrative review or precessing) but there is nothing marked with the only exception that it says wait to hear from us. I called the embassy to find our what that meant and they said to wait. If there is a problem they will notify us or we will just get the visa soon.

Does anyone have the same problem or knows how long it might take to get the visa or to hear from them?

Thanks

Two details I need to add are:

1. They kept her passport

2. One thing I am suspicious that might have triggered this to happen is that when she filled up one of the forms she put that I was not a US citizen. When the she was asked about it she apologized and answered that I am a US citizen and the consul corrected it himself.

There is a good possibility that they DO want to verify that you are a USC rather than just taking her word alone being that the 221g is usually for further background checks. If they needed any more documents or evidence, I believe they would have made it known. Keeping the passport is usually a good sign too.

You're okay. Your visa would be approved once everything checks out. Any error unfortunately is reviewed thoroughly and results in a few days delay, or even weeks. But I am quite confident that it would be approved if the reason why it's being withheld is because of the mistake made by your girlfriend in answering that you were not a US Citizen.

It's just like when you say "I have a gun aboard an airplane". You might be just joking but it's serious business for the airport/airline people.

call DoS Hotline and ask for casefile status, every 2 or 3 days.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

There you go!!!!!...you had the answer for you own question...like I mention to you yesterday from the other thread...your fiancé might did something that make the consul "WONDER AROUND"

I do understand due to nervousness we sometimes makes mistake. But of course those simple mistakes will somehow bite lol :bonk:

Right now there’s nothing you could do is to wait(make yourself busy than usual) until they do the investigation. But if they see things are ALL legit. You be okay. Just have trust to god. Good luck

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

I'm sure your visa will come in time. Just make sure to call the US embassy in Manila ones or twice a week to make sure that your case is in the CO's desk for review. Or else it will be put in the bunch of pile and will be left out. GOD bless you and I wish that your visa will be approve so soon. That will be in my prayer as well!! Be strong and keep the faith!!
